View Full Version : Deatschwerks injectors on rom tune?
Hi guys, me again.
To rule out my bogging and idle problem I’ve hearded some guys talk about the lag time or latency of the Deatschwerks injectors being off (since they suppose to enlarge 370cc to 740cc but retain the 370cc lag time??. The seller over here told me the 740cc were actualy made by DW, no redrilled 370c?)
On realtime tuning board you can adjust these but I’m running a JWT rom tune with DW 740’s.
Anyone having the same problems with DW injectors on rom tunes?
Thanx!
Was the tune written for DW 740's?
Most JWT tune's I have seen are written for nismo 740's which have a different latency.
Previous user of the ECU ran Nismo's.

Do you have the ability to access the JWT ECU to make fueling adjustments?
No. Fuelpressure due adj. regulator is the only fueling option I have.
Car is heavely overfueling since pitchblack plugs and a O2 sensor going bad due to junk on it (worked perfect on previous setup). Retarded the fuelpressure to 2.8 bar and even 2.5 bar (vacuum off that is) but idles still badly and bogging. Once in boost it goes like a rocket.

Detchworks injectors are pure junk. Best thing you can do is get rid of them and get some good injectors. After the 3rd time I had a car come through (for me to tune) with detchworks and I was unable to get the cars to run right I decided that it had to be the detchworks injectors. I now refuse to tune cars with detchworks injectors now..
What Im trying to say is if you send your ecu off to get it reprogrammed for detchworks latency, chances are it still is going to run bad and then your going to need different injectors and to pay to get retuned again. If the tune is for nismo injectors you should just get some nismo injectors.
Replaced the Deatschwerks with HKS 740cc injectors and all is well.
Idles smooth, driving/cruising is smooth, O2 sensor finaly works like it should.

Good to read. Clark (JWT) won't even release tunes for DW injectors (or any redrilled/revamped ones).

D/W 550's on my Enthalpy Tuned (550,Z32 Maf and T28 Turbo/15psi) ECU and Aside from the Bump up in fuel Pressure a tad to Get the AFR's Correct. Not 1 single Issue.
D/W injectors Are Needed at 50psi base Pressure for the TUNE per
[email protected] enthalpy.

Even a blind squirrel finds an egg, I'm sure Scott/Martin/Chris would all agree that they'd rather a true injector, but it is what it is.

So there are several tuners I know, and even jwt refuses to do tunes for DW injectors yet there are still people that have good results with them and want to promote them. This subject is about similar to the cometic hg and sr20s, there are just too many common issues to justify buying them in the first place.
Ive seen many good running cars with dw's and ive seen many good sr's with cometics. But the amount of bad ive seen makes them not worth it IMO.
