i've heard sylvania are stupid bright.
Do yourself a massive favor, and everyone else on the road, and buy cibie housings with narva h4. Mike @ clearcorner got them for me, 250$ shipped, but you can get them at daniel stern lighting also.
They have great cut-off, the bulbs put out bright white light onto the floor, not the trees/sky, and they don't blind other drivers.
250$ for headlights is more than reasonable, imho.

thanks for the plug. here is the link for the technically challenged who are unable to search:
ClearCorners.Com > Products > Cibie ECE (E-code) Headlights (http://www.clearcorners.com/products/cibie/)
i am surprised people still run sealed beam, let alone 8k rebased trash. these topics have been covered OVER and OVER again, from forum to forum. you'de think by now that people would really understand that the world really is round.
next time you should use this thread instead of making new topics.

Np, i love my cibie's to death and would only upgrade if it was possible to run oem-projectors and xenon without looking like a robot. I'd rather let OP know and potentially make himself, and the roads I drive on also, saver.
Sealed beams are only sitting in my garage because i can't throw them out in the regular trash, they suck so much.
And yeah, when i searched i found like 10 pages of the same regurgitated bad responses with some few good replies

A less expensive but still quality alternative to the Cibie's is Hella. The Hella housings are a huge improvement over sealed beams. My set cost about $90.

I prefer the glass housing over the plastic. You CAN get hella glass ones, but theyre hard to get from what i recall. The glass just looks more OEM as compared to the Hella. Hell, if op wants hid's he could go raybrig but still kinda bad, rather than moving forward with Hella/Cibie.

usually you dont need to install wires for h4 bulbs? Unless its like a 2 prong, making it only low beam or high beam. You might have bought some wrong bulbs - and oem 240sx's have sealed beams. You have to replace the whole thing

My Hellas are glass. I haven't heard about them being hard to get. I ordered them from rallylights.com, and got glass units. Didn't know there were plastic ones as well.

there are no plastic hella e-code 200mm headlights. the germans tend to avoid manufacturing a SHIT product, you know.. much like the junk found on 90% of 240's out there. cheap plastic knockoff garbage
