I need some serious help guys! Here's the situation;
I have a 1993 Silvia that had a complete redtop motor/trans/ecu/harness to start with. But recently I picked up a s13 blacktop short block that has head work (264cams, valve springs/retainers, RAS, 3 layer head gasket). So I took all my bolt ons (intake man., CAS, coilpacks, 02 sensor...) off of the REDTOP and put them on the BLACKTOP. I have a blacktop ecu as well. Got the motor in the car and all hooked up. Now it wont crank... The first timeI fired it up, it started but ran bad. After that it would fire up, just spins over trying to start while sputtering. So my question is; Are any of the sensor different between the two motors that would affect how the car runs??
I also stepped up to a Garrett GT2871rs, but Im sure that wouldnt be the cause of the problem.
Please help!!

OH ONE MORE THING!! I have a GReddy intake gear.. Would that affect the TDC marks when installing the CAS?

What year blacktop?
What ECU?
I know they have a different ECU, and the blacktop ecu is not compatible with redtop and vice versa.

All the Sensor for the S13 SR's are all the same minus the O2, and ECU and Wire Harness (depending on Chuki or Kouki) other than that all the electronics are the same.
The 264s are probably messing it up. are you tuned for the cams? You have to use the same ECU with the Wire harness. so if you got a red top harness use the red top ECU
Also try re stabbing the CAS you might be a tooth off

Im not sure what year but it is a s13 blacktop.
Im not convinced that the ecu's are not interchangeable. Between having the redtop and the blacktop with retop bolt-ons, I also had a complete s13 blacktop with a redtop wiring harness anda blacktop ecu.. Same ecu I have now.. And it ran great!! Thats why Im confused. I think Im going to start by rechecking my timing marks and go from there. How is the cas adjusted before it is installed? What marks do you need to line up?

Im running off the factory tuned ecu. I did'nt expect it to throw the tune off that bad.

IIRC the Zenki and Chukis are interchangeable but the Kouki requires repining a few wires of the ECU plug

Wow if you dont know that then thats your problem right there,
Google "SR20 FSM" and down load it it will tell you how to do it.
You will only find an S14 SR20 FSM which is fine same principles and steps

264's arent that bad but it will probably make you run richer. you should still get a tune none the less

Im almost certain I followed the write-up by frsports.. But I will look again tomorrow and try to eliminate something. Thanks!

I have the E5 ecu. Im going to check for codes first. Then check timing.

Got it figured out. I was off one tooth. Thanks guys!
