is it common for a used ecu not to plug in right? I bought an ecu off the net and some of the pin dont seem to be making good connection. If I wiggle the harness the car shuts off. I have 3 other computers and they dont do this on this car. the pins and plug all look completely normal.

Are the pins on it bent? Have you checked the connector to see if any of the little connectors inside are misaligned?

Might seem silly but are you sure it's bolted tight enough to the ecu?

This can be an issue.....I had a month's worth of troubleshooting this summer due to high RPM misfires, and it turend out to be bad contact of one of the CAS sensor ground pins in the ECU harness because it wasn't quite pushed all the way in to the blue plastic thing that holds all the pins....

yep, they can be tightened too little or too much .
