so after 5 years many many dollars, countless hours, may races, and countless good times, she is gone..
got into a accident last friday. i was driving comming back from dinner around 9:30p.m. and a truck decided to cut me off not looking , i only had one way to go into the gaurd rail, hit the rail, air bags deployed, couldnt see sh*t truck drove off, bastard didnt stop.. I have only libality on the car so im F*. Strut tower moved towards the motor about 2"..
I dont know what to do. i would love to fix her but i think its to far damaged to every run good again.. I cant find a clean S14 shell in NY to swap the parts over to..
life sux this car was what gave me a little happiness..:wtc:

this is why i will only swerve to a certain point, after that, i will pit maneuver him/her so at least someone else is at fault. glad your ok though, all that money into it and you dont have full coverage????????

11-27-2010, 09:12 AM
i don't have full coverage, i'm going out on a limb and saying most people don't.
that sucks bro, i'm from jersey so i have to deal with a lot of terrible drivers. samething almost happened to me but good thing i was in my lex with a working loud ass horn to honk the shit out of the dumbass trying to creep into me without a signal...
atleast your ok, cars can be rebuilt.

Thanks for all the positive comments.
im ok i walked away with no major injuries.
yea it was a wierd position i was put in, i didnt want to hit the gaurd rail but it happened.. i did honk and my car is loud but i wasnt going fast only 40mph or less, it wasnt on a highway just a local road..
yea i know all that work and just have libality im kicking my self..
I really want to find a shell, but maybe this is a sign to move on its been lots of years and time and im getting older.. it sucks idk what to do. I dont think ill even make that much parting her out if i went that route.. wish i lived in cali shells are so easy to come by
Dr.Fate
11-27-2010, 09:26 AM
Part that thing out! you can make a little cash off that car!!
seats,skirts,tranny,and d etc............
im glad that you're ok. same thing happened to me, just a stock coupe, i was making a right turn and the semi decided to turn. scraped my driver door, fender, and ripped off my bumper.
it's the holidays, someone might be selling a shell and hook you up.
i crashed my s14 last year, 360 on the freeway, and i was able to find a rolling chassis within a week.
whatever you decide on doing, you will be happy with your decision.

there are many running/non shells in cali ive seen from like 1500 to like 2500 stocky stock.
i got into an accident a while ago it was mostly radiator support, bumper, hood, fender, upper left rail a control arm, tie rod. the lower chassis was not impacted, thus fueled my desire to get it running again. I would say look into it deeper as far as the body work goes, my guy would work miracles. keep your head up. ive seen a car a friend of mines fixed, that mf was wrapped around a pole.

Sucks that it happened bro. I liked your car alot, you were one of the few east coast people that knew about fitment before all the canibeat bullshit blew up.
Time for bigger and better things? If you decide to part out, I'd love to let some of your KA-T parts live on in my hatch. :)

lol thanks man that means alot, ive tried to keep it clean and classy.
everyone here made me feel alot better about the whole thing. i was in depression for a week straight before this,
still un certain what to do or whats best but i am looking for shells.
i will probably sell my current ka-t setup, as if i start a new shell im re-doing everything and then re installing it, i have a almost fully built ka-t in my garage that ive been working on for years so i can make use of it.
its like starting a new relationship out of getting out of a long term one.. im just deciding whether to stick with the s-chassis or move on to some thing else.. only other thing id consider is a 350z...
I'm in the same dilemma as you. My S14 got side swiped last month. But I figure why give up on what you had, if you have a lot that's salvageable then keep it going.

just want to extend my condolences as well. i know what you are going through. i decided to rebuild my zenki into a kouki (i know its still a zenki). just try and chill for a little while and see what life brings. you may be able to find a shell. your car was one of the sexiest ive ever seen. i have pics of ur car as my screen saver at work. i wish you all the luck in the world.

try to pull the fender off door can be replaced, fender, bumper headlight, might not be as bad as it looks from the outside
Sucks to see another east coat red kouki get taken off the road like that. I always had an eye out for yours in particular, mainly because it was soo similar to mine.
350z sounds good, you can get one for 10-12k and a nismo for around 25k. My brother works for nissan here in NJ, fyi.....
If you decide on parting i'd take the headlamp combination switch with foglight option, passenger side fender, and misc. interior pieces.

the way its looking i think about taking a break from the s-chassis,
really thinking about sellin my parts cut my debts (aka student loans) and walking away.
maybe come back in a year or two once i get a real job and have my own place then build one the right way..
spoke to many people got many different answers.. this one seems the most logical and grown..
sux tho illl be miserable for 1-2years until im in a s14 again.. :-(

First off, I'm glad ur ok. But I hate hearing, this is a sign, I'm geting too old.
Fuck that bro! Do what ur heart tells you!
This is a hobby. Every man needs a hobby to keep them sane,
whether it's females, booze, cars, you need this balance.
I'm kinda old, don't ask, and I don't see me selling my car anytime soon.
Another thing you must realize is that ur feeling down right now.
I don't know about everyone else, but as for me, everytime something shitty happens to me, I feel like giving up. I always give it time, then stand up, and keep going!
I suggest you give it time. Then decide what you want to do, with a clear head.
I wish you the best on what you decide! Good luck!

Dude, that really sucks. I know how you feel. This is how my s14 looked like a few months ago:
http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f357/kas14slider/wreck.jpg
I got it pulled and then my friend did a tube front for me. Now the car is all back together and everything is fine. It didn't cost me that much either. Maybe like $1400 to get it back on the road. Of course I don't know how much more your frame is tweaked but who knows, could be slavagable.
My old s14 got destroyed too a couple years ago by an idiot in a 350z at our local drift event. My car was parked and he understeered right into it. My door and quarter was crushed in pretty good. All he had was a dent in his front bumper. But good luck in getting it fixed or getting something else going.
turbo2nr
11-30-2010, 10:19 AM
thanks every one for all the kind words
i had a body guy come look at it. the drive side strut tower moved apx 1.5" towards the motor, the top of the upper frame by windshield has been pulled in, he said its best to cut off from the windshield and get a replacement from another 240 and re weld.
its about 1500 just to fix the front alone , not including the rear quarter pannel and door.
at this point i dont know it just really sucks. looks like cost to repair my chassis is around 3k and no guarantee its going to be 100%..
not sure if i want to go through the time and effort to swap over parts to another shell. i plan on starting my masters soon and i work full time.. so idk what time i would have.. i also dont have 3k to spend on a shell i actually dont have any cash extra to spend on a chassis right now..
i want to keep it and alot of people have been trying to help with shells i appreciated the help. im just trying to weight my options and try to make the best decision.

so i have 4 choices
1- find a clean s14 chassis- transfer all parts to
pro- i will have a 240sx back but still not close to where my car was
con- it will take extra cash to get it to where i want it. The big thing is the time
2- sell this s14 and parts and get another working driving s14 and start over
pro- again ill have another 240sx but still not one close to how mine was
con- starting from scratch with a old car when i have a chance to get a newer car
3- selling all may parts and paying off debt
pro- debt free for now! able to put a downpayment on a newer car and pay monthly
cons- no newer car on the market that really interest me for under 25k..
MAYBE E46 m3 would probaby be the only car i buy other then a s-chassis for under 25k..
-still going to have a "stock " newer car ill probably get bored..
4- keeping my current chassis, fixing damage( cutting out front driver side upper frame and replacing it with one from a doner, getting rear over fenders, new door, and going balls out ( tubbing, possible cage, motor rebuild, new turbo setup, ect)
cons- $$$$$ and time.. as for right now i dont think im in the place to do something like that, as im not in the job i want to be in, and i will start my masters next fall...
so im torn right now. it suck, my birthday is on sunday im getting older and i feeling like crap..

I think some truckers just pull out to fu'k with us. I was coming down a 35 MPH road and some big rig dude put his hand out at me and pulled right out not stopping at his sign.
I saw he was going to do just that and I slammed my brakes. I ended up right under his trailer.
The crossing guard saw the commotion. He wanted to just drive through and I couldn't back up.
She got it fixed and I was able to back up a bit.
I called the police on him, I reported him to the "Am I driving OK" number.
I doubt anything happened.
