hi guys im new, but i have always loved the 240!

I am the proud owner of a black 1989 240sx. The car is an auto. I did have a couple of questions for you, the first one being my car itself. I have a heads up display in my car, on the left side of the dash. Is this a common option or what???? Also, my car is an auto, will i have a hard time with the red top sr20 conversion??? I thank you for your wealth of knowledge and any advise would be appreciated.:bowdown:

It's not standard on a lot of cars, my coupe has HUD but it kinda just seems like... if you got it, then you got it. Also, with the SR, you can swap from auto. to a 5-speed just like you can swap the KA to an SR. Not that much work. However, if you keep an auto, you will have to buy other parts, torque converter so the transmission doesn't snap and you will have to find an SR that's an auto, good luck.

i believe all se coupes had hud. also, swapping in an sr is more difficult on sohc 240s than dohc because you have to get the gauge cluster and power steering pumps and lines from a dohc car. you could also get custom lines or get it from a jdm s13. if you buy a front clip, just swap it over. auto to manual doesn't make it more difficult, just swap trannies and thats that. plug in the auto tranny cooler holes on your radiator. and get manual driveshaft.

so if i buy an s13 complete front end i could in theroy use that cluster correct??? Is there a detailed swapping process somewhere on the web??? On the sohc to dohc turbo models?:bowdown:

if you buy an s13 complete front end, all you will get is the bumper, lights, headlight brackets, fenders, and hood. you wont get a cluster from that.

if you buy a front clip (complete half cut from the dash forward) you can swap the gauge clusters. you can also get a cluster from a 91-93 dohc s13.
