Those round tail lights started in italy im sure with the ferraris. Look at the old vettes too and all those 1950's spaceage style american cars. Of course there isn't any chrome surrounding but those lights definitely didn't start in Japan. You can say that the specific light came from the altezza but the round style came from elsewhere.

I meant that the style is what they are sucking up, not so much the actual light.

i dont like altezzas for one reason - too many clearlights are poorly made and look cheap. now show me some nice ones, that they actaully put some effort to make and look like they came factory with a car - now thats different.:boink:

When you have plentiful amounts of modifications, sometimes people have nothing better to do than get excessive. I am not saying that this is the case, but judging from the red and yellow color scheme, the massive wing, etc. Besides, I've seen plenty of crazy things from Japan.. this is nothing out of the ordinary. Bad influence? YUP.

Maybe someone special got a PAYOFF from the manufacturer of those lights to throw them on this car. Its always about money.

nah i bet sunday will be his red personal car.
no one (with the exception of a very few---ex. Ueno) is bringing out their 'real' d1 car. just their backups/extras/personal cars

actually he does have strobe lights for headlights

Its the RX330, and those are quality tail lights.. not junk, so please appreciate them, thanks.

Those are the first DOT-compliant clear tail lights, and the only reason they ARE legal is because they use a combination of bulb AND led for brake/parking lamp function), plus they have additional reflectors mounted below which act as reflex reflectors.

Technically, WE were the first to ever offer such a tail light.. our Z32 300Z clear/LED tail lights, but this is the first ever production car with clear tails that function well.

Those new Z's have clear tail lights. I was playin w/one goin north on 95 through the mixing bowl. He was old as sh*t and havin fun. I musta made him feel youthful. Either that or the Pepsi blue he was drinking.

july's issue of Option has an install of some kinda "altezza style" taillights onto jazama's FD. they are cool though, they look kinda like the RX-8's circles, but with 4 of them, and the 2 outermost ones are clear. they are LED's, and it looks like you take apart the stock taillight and just replace the internals with the new ones (Thats what they're doin in the install article, anyways. too bad i cant read this ****)
