I'M looking to possibly modify my thermostat so I get some sort of flow through it when it's not open only because I have a koyo radiator and I have a theory that the hot water cools enough before it hits the thermostat so it never opens.

I'm thinking that if I put maybe one or two holes in the thermostat to stimulate flow and maybe it would prevent this problem I'm having.

Just curious what others think about this idea.

The water behind the thermostat is what opens it - i.e. the water in your block. So your theory is pretty much wrong.

The stock thermostat already has a bleed hole in it(jiggle valve) - why do you think it needs more?

You can always enlarge the jiggle valve, but I don't see why really.
