Turbo Noise

For all you boosted folks.

HOW LOUD IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE?

My father spooled it up a block away and I can hear it whirring...

Is there any way I can make this thing quieter?
It screams like a freakin' banshee on boost...
I might have a small leak?

a gasket leak will make it sound like a truck

After I went to the 3" DP it was crazy loud (even for a t25) With the stock sheilded DP it was quiet though. I kind of dig it;)

4 things make it loud:

1. big DP
2. open element filter
3. leaking gaskets
4. leaky open-air BOV

The main gasket to let go is the metal one that goes between the turbine flange and the exhaust manifold. Also, be sure the O2 housing is securly bolted to the outlet of the turbine housing. Got it? :)

It was leaking!

I had leaks at the housing, manifold, dp, oilpan... >_<

WTF!

Now I'm leak free but when it spools up it still screams like something otherworldly.. keep the advice comming! ^_^

have you looked at the compressor wheels? if they are chipped, they will make lots of noise and not much power :-(
