Ok, I just saw this on Enjuku Racing, available in 1-2 weeks

Description:
Greddy TD06S Turbo Kit Nissan 240sx 95-98. Full Bolt-On Turbo kit Includes: Cast manifold, Greddy 20G Actuator Style Turbo, Larger 370cc Top-feed Injectors w/ hi-flow fuel rail, preprogrammed E-Manage Piggy back computer, Airnix Air intake system, and all necessary piping, couplings, oil lines, heat-shields, & Hardware necassary for installation. At about 6psi of boost, this Greddy 20G turbo matches well with the large 2.4L engine to produce a responsive, smooth, and linear 210hp with lots of torque.

Please, someone tells me this is for real...Please...

Bout damn time, I dont think 3000 is too expensive, you are getting a whole kit that is CARB legal which is especially nice for us Californians.:D

Umm....would that fit on the DOHC S13 KA? If not...why? Any idea if the manifold will be available outside of the kit?? 370cc injectors....is this a "stage 1" kit or something?

I'm no expert on turbo set ups and what not so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what do they mean by "linear"?

And is that 210hp to the wheels or to the crank?

How much more power do you think it could make with a fmic, full 3 inch down pipe, and 3 inch exhaust? 225hp maybe?

sykikchimp
08-28-2003, 08:40 AM
Linear means it has a flat HP curve, not peaky like a vtec motor.
like this / instead of _)

I'd like to know how much boost the system is running by default..

it will be nice if you can buy pieces off of the kit. Like the preprogramed piggy back e-manage system.

i've been reading about this thing for so long when the hell is it supposed to be for sale?

all i wander if that manifold doesnt crack as easy as the headers.

210 hp, seems kind of weak as compared to some of the other turbo kits avaliable for our cars. Hmm, I wonder what the max hp that puppy will make.

Maeda

210 at the wheels?
sounds like 4-6 psi to me...

i wander whats the turbo setup can handle.

yea it would be great if they let us part it out.. wonder how far that turbo can be taken..

now we'll just have to wait and see if it's legal, if not, it's just another kit in addition to nsport/xs/fmax...
all this turbo talk makes me want to go get one, maybe fab a ghetto version from the yard, or if anyone is selling a complete ghetto kit for the ka24de...

Add an intercooler, and you can run 370s up to 100% duty and make ~250rwhp or so (boost depends on the turbo...T3 = 9-10psi, T3/T4 = 8psi, 20G...?)

I've read that a TD06 20G is good for 450hp.. it's comparable to a T04.

so which one of us is gonna be the test subject and buy this kit? :p

im planning to buy it beginning of summer 04 if i hear bad news about it from now til then..i wont buy it and build my own

russian

i should have money for it buy next summer as well. unless i find ghetto parts lots cheaper with lots of luck:aw:

SilviaDriver

hrmm..after a lot of thinking. i kinda think this GReddy kit isnt worth the money.

why?

well the kit cost 3000 no IC. IC kits cost ~800 bucks knockin the final price to 3800. also this kit comes with a smaller turbo

whereas..

fmax/XS etc is ~3900 comes with IC and comes with a bigger turbo

i mean they eventually come out to be approx. the same price. might as well go with fmax/XS since they have a bigger turbo in the kit

wat do you people think about this..about wat ive thought about i mean

russian
08-28-2003, 07:31 PM
hmm spearco core - around 300$
pipes and weldin at local shop 150$

sooo, :) +450$
making cost of 3450$. plus the pillar pod for gauges, plus the gauges. plus cutin the bumper to fit the intercooler (depends)

My ideal kit on a KA-T budget would be:

$600 rebuilt T04B (50 series, .82 AR, stage 3 wheel)
$350 secondhand Revhard manifold
$500 72lb injectors
$300 intercooler + piping (guy on ebay who makes nice ones)
$100 walbro fuel pump
$500 JWT ECU
$450 Ross pistons (saw some on ebay for $400 brand new)
$200 guages (3 non-top-of-the-line gauges)
$300 KA rebuild kit (just a guess)
$300 new aftermarket clutch
$200 Odds n' ends
_____________

$3800

For $3,800 I can have much more if I do it myself...and I'll have an engine with Zero miles.

Maybe I missed some things, but....for this price Im getting much more than that Greddy kit....and the CARB legal sticker doesnt apply to me...thankfully.

you forgot

BOV hks,blitz etc 200$
downpipe 150$
thermal whrap 30$
oil lines 100$
hoses, clamps kit 20$
wastegate(optional) 300$ for tial at last.

mbmbmb23
08-28-2003, 09:33 PM
Well...I could make my own downpipe....and I could do the hoses/clamps, oil lines, thermal wrap and homemade downpipe for $200 under the odds n ends category...but you are right I forgot wastegate and bov. I'd get a used HKS SSQ off ebay for $100 and a new Tial wastegate for $200....bringing the grand total to $4,100.

But, to the Californians that want to play it legal...this is a good deal:bowdown: .

Na....the rods arent the weak link in the engine....the OEM pistons are. I've never heard of any KA-T person breaking a rod or crank, but I hear about mucked up pistons all the time...with pitting and shattered ring lands. If I were building up a drag motor then yes, but..otherwise I'll just polish and shot peen the factory forged rods.

Good luck with the Greddy kit....but keep in mind that won't most of the "other" parts that arent included in the kit (FMIC, Exhaust,etc..) have to be CARB approved peices also? I coulda swore I heard any aftermarket peice installed in Cali had to have a CARB sticker on it.

its 210 HP because they had to keep it legal (and its meant for lasting a decent time on the stock engine IIRC).
Intercooler is an option, but with the emanage system and some low compression forged pistons I think you would probably turn the wick up quite a bit. That turbo will support a lot more power.

Please school me a little bit here...

After you purchase, lets say the NSport system, where do you go from there for more power? Outside of engine work, purley on the FI side of things; what do you do afterwards? Can you just put on a larger turbo with the same footprint as the first?

Second, I hear all this about matching the turbo and the engine and I cant make heads or tails of it. What does it mean?

Weird Styles, you appear to be at that stage in the learning process where Corky Bell can teach you all you want to know.

Buy "Maximum Boost".. it will be your bible.

Get replacement E.O. plates from one of thier CARB legal turbo kits and stick them on. Should pass the visual.
I'm looking at this kit due to the eManage. It's nice to see some programable fuel management. Unlike some of the jury riged kits out there. I would ad a FMIC and e-01 bost controller. It's nice to be able to chose the FMIC I want even thou some mods would have to be made. I saw someone using a s13 hot pipe on the cold side and a s14 cold pipe on the hot side with some minor triming.
I don't think that you can beat the upgradeabilty of this kit.

Really? wow.. Oh wait a second.. i'm just retarded. I remember reading about some guy on NICO that posted pictures of the install. For some reason i thought the TDO6 20G Kit was a different kit. Nevermind.
