Just wanted to say HI to everyone. I am not very knowledgable of these cars, that's why I'm here. My husband LOVES his car, sometimes i think more than myself :). So I am here to learn more and be part of something he really enjoys. Plus I won't feel like such a Dumb girl when he trying to explain something to me.

Welcome! The osmosis is good. When someone says something ain't so...they may not be enlightened yet. Take all factors with a grain of salt. Lots of experienced people here, ENJOY!

Well, kinda long story. We initially had a minivan (no no kiddies) and then Yosh got his first 240sx. He then got into wanting to do an SR swap so we then bought another 240 and did the swap, i then had the first 240. I was getting pretty ****ed at him, he started taking the cars apart and putting all the nicer stuff in his. So I ended up with all the sh*tty things, we eventually sold it and got a Honda Passport(too much snow driving). So now yosh has his modified 240, I have the Passport, and we both share the minivan. But know after driving the 240 I would love to downsize. Our mission now find Ana a car. But i do lots of homevisits so i need something very reliable in the snow so I'm looking into a Dodge SRT-4. Long enough huh!

is your husband a member? if he knows so much, maybe we could benefit from his experience. i'm sure there's something he could learn here too.
i doubt an SRT-4 would be all that great in the snow. sure it's FWD, but the tires are probably pretty sticky, not something that goes well with snow. i would go for a WRX or an A4, but that's just my $.02.

I think that member Yoshi or whatever is this character. Doesn't sound right.

My husband is a member and that is WHY i joined. He learns tons of info on this board and i assumed i could ALSO learn a thing or two! I don't think i'll be posting much since I'm here to learn and gather info. I'm not educated enough on the 240 to be asking questions yet.
The WRX was another car we were looking at. Several of our friends have it and just love it. I just need to look up some more info on it to make a somewhat educated opinion. I was not sure how people would respond to my comment about looking at the SRT-4, since this board is dedicated to 240 etc. A comment i kinda regreted, but too late now.

welcome to the board... i really just started posting recently myself (killing boredom at work) although i lurked around the boards for a few months. don't regret being open with your choices of cars... only someone ignorant is going to flame you for that. personally i wouldn't go for the neon.
what is your price range and your preference in styling? you want something sporty? practical? a little of both? anyway, welcome to the board ^.^

Actually I would like a little of both. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. Our budget will be about 20 grand. If less great! If not ohh well, we'll see!

For that kind of dough..I would look no further than a 92-94 Corvette. Then you have everything you could possably want. Make sure it is under 50K...they tend to fall apart around 140K and you want to at least get 50K of fun out of it, and turn it close to buying price. Corvettes are good car investments and haul AZZ as well. Comfortable as well and safe in the snow with the ASR feature.
Believe me, a Vette with ARS is better in the snow and ice than my 4WD chevy blazer (late model) was.

BAH!
She loves that truck!
Besides, here in eastern washington, trucks are ACTUALLY USED for off-road-type driving... unlike socal, land of the 4x2 trucks/SUVs, blah! I'm so glad I don't live there anymore.
ANYWAYS, how many of you guys let your significant other regularly drive your car that you've spent 1000's of dollars and hours on? What would be the point of that unless u had 2 tuner cars? Hey wait, that's what she was talking about originally anyways remember? We're getting her a NEW car! :p

Me! Although that will probably end soon, seeing as how I've worked her S13 into something quite nice. Still not done yet though!

Hi anabean! Welcome from one s13 femme to another!!:D
PS- looking for a good winter car for under 20g?
Get a 2.5 RS subaru!! I love the WRX in the winter, and the 2.5 isbasically the same, AWD higher displacement but non-turbo. Subarus are the ultimate winter cars for silvia drivers. (I can't drive mine in the winter. black ice > my sr20
Take care!

heh, my girls parents offered her a R32 GTR to stay in Japan when she decided to move to the states. She turned them down.
Moving to the U.S. was more important at the time.
Yes she is going to be driving one of my cars and yes she will go drifting with me:D ;) what more can a guy ask for:bowdown:
hi Ana and welcome , It was great seeing you guys earlier this month and Yoshi really has done a wonderful job with the car I am glad he bought it.

Hi Anna!!! Welcome, I did the same thing you are doing, but I went to Nadine of So Cal 240sx.org...hehehe I learned SOOOO Much! She is a good point of reference for girls to learn a lot. Hehe I am on my second 240 now, and I still have my family car. Go to Nadine180.com to learn a lot of the terms and the whole 240 talk. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or IM me.
And Yoshi, YES I drive my hubbys car almost daily...it is a lot of fun, plus he knows if I wreck his he gets my car, and hey wait a minute, he has been driving my car! Dang it Kev, I want my coupe back! hahaha
Buuutttt they are both modded so it's cool. Anna if you need anything just ask, thats what we are here for! Again WELCOME!:D

Well Thanks EVERYONE for making me feel so welcomed. I may take a few of you up on questions and such! There is soo much information, i was a first overwhelmed on where to start! I will eventually weed through some of this. Don't think i could hit a fraction of everything that's on this board for awhile! Again, thanks.
Dave, it was very nice to put a face to a name!

But anyways, welcome aboard again!
