Hey , i'd really like some help with this , I've been searching for months and still can't figure it out. i have a JDM sr20 its an S14 and it doesn't like to start when cold , it will start fine once its been going and is a little warm but will not start cold . i've cleaned the MAF, have a new fuel pump , FPR , o2 senor , I've checked the orange wire on the ECU , i don;t see how it could be a wiring problem though anyways considering the engine came in the car from the factory. No blow fuses. looked at the injectors o rings and they seem to be ok . it idles fine so i don't think its a IVAC. and the temp gauge works fine so i can't see it being the coolant temp senor. the car works perfect once it is running no hesitations and A/F ratios are great. Has a Stock ECU running stock boost and injectors. One other thing is that its starts a little better when you hold the throttle down. still takes for ever and usually you have to let it sit after you have been trying for a while. and after you let it sit sometimes it starts right up. I dont think its leaky injectors either because the fuel pressure stays at 20 pounds when the car is off and it will sit at 20 pounds for days. its set just under 40 pounds at idle. Please give me ideas. Thanks

Check ECU for codes.
almost kinda sounds like a dirty fuel filter.
stock fuel pressure is 43psi IIRC

The temp gauge working doesnt necessarily indicate a working temp sensor. The gauge has a single wire sender while the ecu has, iirc, a 3 wire temp sensor. Check ecu for codes, and look in the FSM for temp sensor testing and inspection.

Unplug the ECU, get a test light and check all the pins (with the ECu unpluged and the igntion switch on->all gauges on dash are also on. Let me know what pins are powered. And go from there.

Okay, tomorrow i will check my ECU codes. and it has a brand new fuel filter so it can't be a dirty filter.

I checked my ECU codes, i got 5 long and 5 short flashes, this means its okay IIRC

I have the exact same problem. It will start up easy if i spary a bit of brake cleaner into the throttle body.
