I bought these for my s14
12'' SLIM RADIATOR FAN 1500 CFM 200SX 280ZX 300ZX CAMRY - eBay (item 250519442458 end time Nov-18-10 13:38:20 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250519442458&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123)
1500 CFM each.
Im running them with my Koyo. There very powerful and keep the engine cool. BUT there extremely loud it sounds like a airplane taking off. You can hear them inside and outside the car and down the block.
Just wondering if there is a special way to install them.
What guage wire do i have to use?
Is there to much power going to them?
Is pusher or puller more quiet?
or is this how there suppose to be?
Thanks.

Most E-fans are loud depending on the blade construction and CFM it flows
I have the FAL S-Blades and they are pretty damn loud themselves even though they are suppose to be quieter

I have FAL S-blades as well. Mine are on a koyo rad and they are pretty loud, it does sound like and airplane taking off. Mine are set up to pull, I don't think whether they are pulling or pushing will change how loud they are. I used the wire and thermostat box that came with the fans and haven't had any problems.

I guess these aftermarket fans are really loud. how come normal cars don't have loud fans. You cant even hear them when they turn on.
Do your fans turn off after a few seconds or do they stay on for a really long time? Im not sure what setting to put my thermostat too, because my fans stay on all the time, i have it to the lowest setting.

My fans turn on when my water temp gets up a little over 190, they usually run for no more than a min and that bring my temp down almost 10 degrees. They sometimes run for longer when its one of those shitty hot days during the summer time down here in florida. As far as other cars OEM fans, my girl has a crappy 2005 eclipse and the fans on that this are loud as well. I think its just simply the design of blades and electric motors that are used.
You will probably want your fans to only run when your car starts to heat up like it does when you are sitting in traffic, having the fans on when your going down the highway doing 65 + mph does no good at all. My fans only run when ive been sitting in traffic for awhile or after I park they sometimes run for a few seconds. When I dialed in my control box I let me car sit in the drive way and when the temp got up where I wanted them to kick on I turned the dial till they finally came on and left it there ever since. Just my :2c:

The more CFM the fans pull, the louder they will tend to be, no matter how the blades are designed (the curved S-blades are quieter than straight blades though). The blades are disrupting the air, the more air they disrupt, the more noise they will make. Of all the cars I've owned, all the fans (OEM or aftermarket, clutch or E-fan) have been fairly loud. If you have your thermostat for the fans at the lowest setting, they will turn on earlier. I have my fans set to turn on around 190, they cut off at 10 degrees below the turn on point (so 180). My controller is set with this 10 degree difference from the manufacturer.

Where do you have your sensor placed on your radiator? Once my fans turn on they never shut off. its really loud and annoying. My Sensor is placed on the top right hand side by the hose.

^As is mine. I put it just to the side (~1") of the hot side hose return. What brand of fan controller are you using? Again, the one I have has a built in 10 degree difference, it automatically shuts the fans off once the temp has dropped to 10 degrees below the turn-on point.

That's probably because your fan clutch is seized up.
