Prelude to the story..... I washed and detailed my car and wheels no more than an hour and a half before this story. Everything was looking tits!

So after trying to find a pair of used(cus I'm a cheap ass) 225~40~18's, a buddy found a clean pair Of falcons at his dads car dealer for $40! I know right hell of a deal. So since he's got the connects through his dads dealer he hit up the local tire shop they use to mount and buy their tires n what not. $10 to mount both.... Sure WTF not sounds like a deal to me. Get there n the guys r kool as shit joking around having a good time. Two diff guys worked on my front tires to knock it out quick cus the cords were showing. 1 guy used the flat tire press with the 4 claws to remove n replace the new tire and fill it with air. The other used the tire press to remove the tire a d replace, then took the wheel off a d busted out a idk WTF to call it( looked like a huge steel potato gun he filled with air, stuck between the wheel and tire, pulled the trigger and a damn explosion roared through the bay and the tire was filled) and then mounted the tire. I pay my 10 plus a nice tip and bounce. Get home about 30 min later n was set to rotate my tires cus I wanted the new meat in the rear when all of a sudden I see it!

bammmmthe tire Rambo
fixed now has a 2" creese with another next to it. Went back n the manage ofcourse wasn't there n the first words were we didn't do that, it was already there. I explained it was not as I had just cleaned my car including all four wheels n they proceeded to deny n say we just didn't say anything cus we figured u already knew n crashed into something drifting. I was like WTF and even measured it out and measures their special tool and what do u know. The end of it is the same length as the creese and has a flat edge. They told me
they arnt fixing it. I told them they r krazzy! My is what kind of action can i take? Better buisneaa berue( my spelling may be off but it is 4lokos fault)

anyone had this problem and what was ur resolve! Any
feedback is appreciated. Thanks

most shops have disclaimers posted that they are not responsible for damage to aftermarket wheels. you might be SOL.

Just got back from th tire store talking to the manager about this mess n he still denies they had anything to do with it. Even when I walked in his main garage, grabbed Rambos potato gun and matched the end to my wheel!........

I say if the shoe fits.......mouths dropped, yet they stick
to their stories

hmm that's the reason i mount the shit my self. Bummer man. BTW the potato gun thing you mentioned is called a cheeta. I am kinda with all the other guys your SOL. Looks like you will need to send that rim off to be fixed

That picture should be all you need for a small claims case. File it, they'll probably give you money rather than higher a lawyer to fight it, which they'd lose anyways.

^^^Yep Im with this dude, take your case to small claims, u got more than enough evidence...Good luck man.....

Thanks for the thread. When I get a set of wheels that are worth a damn I'm going to take pictures of them before tire mounting just in case any discrepancies arise.

Damn dude, that's fucking shitty. This is the main reason I do everything myself, along with mounting tires. Shops will do this kind of sketchy shit and will try and get away with it, Bring them to small claims court, that picture proves it was there fault. Too bad you didn't snap a picture before they did it, then there would be no questions asked and you'll get paid for that.

They are dumb for using a Cheeta on those. I would only use one to seat larger tires(like 33's+) For smaller tires or low pro's like when I did mine, I just wrapped a Semi ratchet strap around the center and tightend it till it was snug and bam, worked like a charm. I would say invest into some mounting tools and learn to do it yourself. Hell you could even do it with just grease. that's how I mounted my low pro's on.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the response. I filed a complaint against them through the better buisness berue so Ima see how that goes n I'll post the outcome for everyone just in case this shinanagance happens to anyone else. If not small claims, here I effin come lol. Thanks guys

All the work (time, paperwork, get out of work) to take them to small claims to get $150 from them, when the rims you have are worth $200 brand new...yup, definitely worth doing.

I'd knock this up on "shit happens" and move on...

It's the principal of the matter... they said they didn't do it.

Principle? Fuck that shit...loosing a whole day of work will pretty much double up on the money you'd lose due to principle. Just dont go back there, and dont recommend the place to folks.

Lol it's all good. I think I can burn a day or 2 of my 2 week paid vacation to go get money from a place that fucked up my "$200" rim... Lol. Thanks for the input guy...

I'd say go after em' man. Some shops try to get away with the most ridiculous bs, i can't stand shotty work and lack of ethics.

Do whatever you can but don't waste too much time, money, and sweat over it tho. Maybe post a mad 'Do Not Use This Shop' post... hit them where it hurts and destroy their credibility and business.

...wish you the best of luck.

i agree with the previous poster, if it gets out of hand and takes up too much time and/or money...just move on with it and never go back there. their loss...dont let it turn into your loss too. just my :2c:. gluck man!
