So im pretty hard on my brakes and have been wanting to upgrade for the last year or so. I wanted to either do the q45 or the 180sx front brake upgrade. I was thinking of doing the 180sx since it wouldnt throw off my bias too much but still give me a bigger rotor for heat/stopping.
The main thing im trying to figure out is what should i do for the back brakes? Switching them out for q45s since like overkill plus a pain.
FYI, my car is a daily driver, i just tend to drive it really hard on the weekends and stuff.
thanks for any input you guys can give me

I swapped my stock S13 rear brakes out for S14 rear brakes which have a slightly larger piston, not much of a difference but it's easier than doing the others and either losing the ebrake or haveing to fit the 300zx or other ebrake setup. The main reason I did that was the rotors, I have a 5 lug swap but you can buy s14 4 lug rotor or 5 lug rotors rather than buying rotors and drill them. If you want more info on what was done to swap those in just PM me. But if you want a good over all front and rear brake upgrade, mine is 30mm aluminum Z32 front brakes with S14 rears and a Z31 brake master cylinder the brakes have a really nice feel to them.

Good pads. Good fluid. Good tires.
Really, there isn't much of a need for an upgraded caliper if it's simply a daily.

As stated, if it's a daily not a great need to upgrade unless alot of power is being put down.
However, brakes are one aspect of a car I'd always like to invest some time/money into, as it really is a crucial aspect of increased reliance/safety.
I upgraded to r33 gts-t brakes all round on my s13 including the drum handbrake setup.
It cost alot to do as i went with completely reconditioned and new items where i could, however I wouldn't have it any other way.

You can also get nissan altima rotors in the back, which are larger then stock.

Refer to the street/track skyline build on here. Great write up on big brakes and how they're misused so often..it's in like chapter five i think.

I did an upgrade with 26mm Z32 calipers ($80, a lot cheaper than 30mm ones) and slotted rotors ($80 from 88Rotors, one of our vendors here) when I went 5lug conversion. It's worth it if you're planing on going to do a 5 lug conversion anyway. Rear, I got as the above mention; S14 calipers and rotors.
These cost me roughly less than $300 for everything needed F/R, including SPL front brake lines. Just wanna give you another idea that good and cheap.

meh...
stock brakes are fine on our cars. it's all about pads and tires.
i went with q45's up front and altima rotors in the rear... didn't notice a difference in braking power really, fronts lock up quicker maybe... wasn't really worth the hassle and money.
would do z32's next time because at least they look cool.

wait...
you s13 guys are swapping in s14 rears because you think that's an upgrade??
for those of you who've done it, do you have a working ebrake?
really, for a daily stainless lines, good pads and fluid is all you need
if you must upgrade, please for the love of the baby jesus ditch the sliding calipers and go to something with pistons

I just installed my r32 30mm's. rotors, and z32 master. Brakes feel amazing. A huge upgrade from stock.
Just do the z32 swap and call it a day. Cheap, $400, and you notice a huge difference.
