Quick question. Thought I might get a quick answer.

In the morning or after my 92 ka 240 sits for a while it seems to have low voltage at startup. When I start it and turn the lights on they will be a little dim until the engine spins up to around 3000rpm. The windshield wipers the same. they will speed up after reaching this rpm .

After that it stays bright and wipers move properly even at idle.

Things I change with out results.
Alternator
Recrimped new crimp to alternator lead.
New rotor and cap on distributor.
New Plugs
And New odyssey 680p battery.

What else should I do?

P.S. While I'm at it sometimes when I turn my lights to high beam they will not work and sometimes it will. Any Ideas on that too?

Thanks guys!

I would start checking your grounds. One might have a bad connection sinking the current to ground. Also the next time you start your car, make a list of everything that is on, ei: fuel pump, radio, etc. Check the connections and wiring for everything that you list.

Yeah every thing that should be on is on when i start the car. I check the car hear and there for loose wires and stuff like that somewhat often. I know that one of the sensors has been disconnected from the transmission for a long time but i think that irrelevant.

Also note that after the wipers speed up, lights get brighter etc. it stays working properly no matter what RPM I'm in. Idle to full.

Maybe some speaker wires got disconnected and are grounding but i don't see how it would not change until i get right at 3000 rpm after a start up.

Ok. Problem is now solved. After much time spent unable to find anything wrong, it came down to an almost undetectable issue.
Long story short, basically the on the back of the gauge cluster the was a screw holding a ground circuit down along with a metal washer on the right side of the cluster. Over time this was happen to wear threw some of the instillation of a neighboring circuit. So strange. You literally could even see the wear spot where the washer shorted the circuit. So just one more thing to look out for gearheads :rimshot:
