All I did was disconnect it. I left the wiring and box in there since it was a lot easier to raise the console a bit, unplug the sensors and leave it there. I thought that was easiest and only took 5 min, and its still there if I ever need to plug it back in. I also left the lapbelts in the car... not really worth trying to get under the carpeting and pulling it out. Don't even notice them now.

About how much weight was all that manual crap you took out mike?

I took all the wires and stuff out too when i put my S14 belts in. The only thing you really have to remember is to give the black/red wire that goes into the time control unit. I didn't for a while and I had all kinds of weird things going on. The clock didn't work anymore, the door light stayed on, the wipers would go once whenever i started the car, but now everything is fine.

Taking out all the wires was kinda a pain, but it was worth it. It was weird because the wires went all the way around the back of the hatch to the plug for the motor on the passenger side. Well good luck.

What do I give to the blk/red wire? Or did you mean to connect the blk/red wire to the time control unit. Where is the time control unit?

There's a red/black wire that goes from the time control unit to one of the plugs under the center console. I think it goes to pin 9 on the tcu. It's supposed to have 12 volts all the time. If you cut the tires going to the plugs you're going to cut that from its power supply. I used the white/blue wire, it's a little thicker, i think it's 12 or 14 gauge, that wire goes from the circuit breaker to the other plug under the center console. I just connected these two wires and everything is working fine.

I dunno how much weight I saved with the removal of the auto-seatbelts, I didnt care about that.. I just dumped it into the bucket of useless crap, like my power steering. :)

I didnt have to do ANY wiring modifications, other than removing the damn wires. I had NO issues.. no wipers wiping, no seatbelt light, none of that.

The only downside to going with S14 seatbelts is you need to find longer upper pivot bolts should you want to put your interior back on... kinda tricky

Nope, no seatbelt light at all. I just unplugged them, no cutting at all. No warning light, no problems so far. :D

So did you find that longer pivot bolt? If so...where?

I never really got around to USING a longer bolt. I did go to the dealer and my buddy who works in the parts department ended up finding a longer bolt, I beleive (and hope) its a grade8 bolt, but I cannot recall for sure.

I never really cared to get into finishing that all up. Thats when I decided to ditch that idea and go with a cage and harnesses.

Oh well.. you can pick up the torch I dropped and finish the project. :)
