I've got an s13 sr20det redtop and I'm in the process of a building it. Replacing gaskets, seals, water pump, pretty much a complete overhaul. It's a fresh motor off a front clip with great compression in all cylinder that I purchased 8 years ago. Installed then and ran decesnt for literally two weeks but wanted to do a complete overhaul of the motor so I pulled it out the car to do so but I own a number a business and never been able to put any time into it since. The motor has been literally just sitting on my motor stand. So finally i got the time to put the work in..yes 8 years of not even touching the motor, I know it ridiculous of me and it's actually my third s chassis. I had s13 coupe, s13 hatch, and now it's an s14 zenki that's been sitting for years now just begging to be worked on. My only question that I really need help with is, can I fit an s15 oil pump and assembly cover on my redtop? I've research as much I can and it's killing me that I can't find a clear answer. Hardtuned.com, I read it can be done without modifications, it should all bolt right up. Is this true?? I want to upgrade my oil pump and I don't want to do gtir oil pump, I want something that will bolt right up. All you sr20det geniuses help me with this. Please....thanks

If the S15 oil pump is the same as the S14 oil pump then I dont believe you can without modification.
I'll have to run part number when i get home but Im pretty sure they are different.
I know the S13 and S14's are diff which leads me to believe the S15 is gonna be different as well
What do you need more oil pressure for? the Stock Oil pump should be sufficeint enough

you have it drill one hole in a s14/s15 pump on the top left above the water pump

Sileighty85 I just pulled apart a S15 oil pump and the gears are bigger than the s13 but not by much. The s13 gears are 9.35mm high and the s15 are 10.15mm. Interestingly the OD of the s15 gear set is smaller than the s13. Doing this creates a bit more room around the gears for oil to flow through. Maybe that's why s13 oil pump fails at times, but I don't hear to many sr oil pump seize up but I heard some but that's maybe because they just got old bad fukked up oil pumps. I'm really wanting to do everything once for reliability with good decent power since I'm pretty much dumping a lot of doe into this build. But you are probably right that a new s13 oil pump would really be sufficient. Thanks for looking into the part numbers for me. Keep me informed thanks

Driftrkp can you elaborate a little on your input. You know I hear s15 oil pump assembly cover bolt right up and I hear other stuff or not enough info so if you maybe did an s14/s15 oil pump on an s13 please let me know more info.

well if you found internal differences then its gonna have a different part number,
But according to FAST the S14 & S15 use the same Oil pump
13500-69F00-
from what ive read, the S14 and 15 oil pump flow a little more due to the VTC system

That exactly what I read and found hence the reason I want to go with the s15 oilpump assembly cover. More oil flow better for reliability right. Thank for all your input. Keep em coming, it's nice to have someone helping me with the research

Yeah that's what I found researching but one guy says s15 oil pump assembly cover bolt right up no modifications. I figure more oil flow equals more reliability, hence the reason I want to use s15 oil pump assembly. I appreciate your help with your info. Keep em coming while I do more research. Thanks alot

Your biggest concern with the oil system on the redtop is not the pump...its the pick up...You should be asking about installing the s15 oil pickup saucer on the red top which is very easy and then also invest in a Tomei Oil Pump, steel and indestructable....The facotry oil pan should be thrown away asap on any swap imo lol...
This is what causes most of the failures on oil systems on SRs especially redtops...not the pump itself. Even if when tearing down a blown rod motor the saucer looks ok has not cracked off the spout and is floating around the lower pan it's still probably the culprit...can't even count how many times I have seen this...If you think it's fragile just image the clearance to pan and pick up being even more and more fragile and too close for comfort than your wildest dreams lol

I didnt even know tomei make oil pumps for redtops but I guess I'll be looking into that. Great info man I appreciate it. So s15 oil pick up saucer would have no problems in my redtop for sure?? I'm glad I just got an arc oil pan but if you know if I should use a different one for better use of setup feel free to let me know, but I like my arc oil pan so I'm gonna probably keep it. Thanks man great info
