You can do a compression test to make sure your intake valves are seating right, idk the other causes for backfire from the intake, you can search i know alot of websites have trouble shooting tables for things like this.

What motor? a little bit more info?
Have you tried adjusting the IACV? the Throttle Plate screw? etc etc...

could it be possible bad maf? im running a z32 maf never had issues before but could there be a possibility its done.. what should the readings (voltage and ohms) be if i tested the sensor?

sounds like your timing is off.

Ima check the mechanical timing when I got time thanks for the inputs I'll keep y'all updated

so i checked the mechanical timing and its dead on rotated it 720 degrees and all lines up..what are possible bad iacv symptoms and all four spark plugs are pig rich and im getting 150psi +/- 3 across the board for compression

Hmmm i gotta check the maf when I had a bad ground I remember the ground to the maf had a short if I unplug it should it change? And ecu is stock with stock fuel map

Alright put new plugs in and disconnected the maf it idles with the maf unplugged but when given throttle the car hesitates and dies if wot

idk if this applies but same thing happened to my friends civic. it would try n crank but backfire from the intake. turns out the distributor sequence was fucked up (sparkplugwires) just had to redo them correctly and fired right up
sorry if it doesnt help at all though ><
edit: my bad didnt know you got farther but im having the same problem with my ka. at wot the rpms actually drop all the way to near 200 then die. with the clutch in they go at 500 for 3 seconds then die.

If you unplug your maf and the car starts up and idles fine, then your maf or maf wiring is the problem. Test the wiring and get a new maf.

Zenki_373 , thats definitely your maf, with the maf unplugged/bad it will let the car idle but it will not rev up. im currently having an idle issue with my car, but im believing its a vacuum leak. It will not idle, maf plugged in or unplugged, it will stay running if i give it gas though, sprayed starter fluid all around intake manifold and only place that causes it to actually rev is the rubber things at the bottom of the injectors (not o-rings, the things the injectors actually click into) if anyone knows if its supposed to do this, or what they are called, or where i can get new ones thatd be great.

This is actually the way to go for testing this...
If the maf is unplugged you should be able to blip the throttle and it should go up to 2000-2500 or so and stop you there, but it will rev cleanly up to that point. If it does this cleanly then you know for sure it's something with the MAF.
I don't think it's the CAS though...unless it's the wiring that is screwed up from the CAS which I have seen...gotten torn or screwed up...check the CAS plug and wiring and make sure it's good. Check the MAF wiring also and be sure it's solid and not screwed up. Also are you sure the MAF wiring is correctly wired in the first place?
Another thing to check is for vacuum leaks. If you have a major one hiding somewhere this will cause this also. I don't think it's the IACV off the top of my head because it's not letting you rev and when you do give throttle input it just dies...sounds like something else more major

Steve, i have a idle issue, the car will start up, and i can rev it as high as i want, but it WILL NOT stay at idle, any solutions?

12 v is not getting to ur iacv
easy fix find the wire and connect it to 12v switched

Hmmm I'ma do the old carb clean around vacuum lines trick and see if I got anything..I got a n60 maf a buddy gave me cause my mafs hot wire shorted out and I'll see from there if I get my throttle response back...keep ya updated
