5w20 is a bit thin for a turbo car. As S14 pointed out, 10w30 is the way to go for most SR's.

check your power steering fluid

Exactly.

Yeah sounds like power steering to me...

that sound is coming from your power steering, not your motor

its not a sr nor is it turboed, its a stock ka so im thinking eitther 10w40 or 10w30 my car has 124k miles ont it and i live in los angeleswhere its hot right now, plus my powerstreering revoir is full right now but it makes that soind, i dont know if the oil or the power steering is afeecting my rpm to be so high when its idling?

i use 10w-30 and i live in arizona and idle at 900 is perfect for me..and check the power steering, oil wouldn't make your car whine when you turn your wheel IMO

have someone turn the wheel for you and just pinpoint the noise yourself while under the hood.

10w30 mobil 1 would be good for you..

and that noise is your power steering. check hoses to see if any are bind and arent flowing rite. could be your power steering pump as well, as it can happen coincidentally after you changed your oil.

first thing id do is add power steering fluid.

You are using ATF not PS fluid in the PS system?

Download the fsm if u haven't already and it will tell u step by step how to do it exactly as a Nissan factory tech would.

i would use 10w30, my ka had almost 280,000 miles and still ran like a champ.
