Hey,..
i'm new to the board.. first gonna say whats up...
aiight.. i'm thinking of getting a 97-99 240.. and doing a front and rear s15 conversion.. the front conversion.. i pretty much got that down..but for the rear..
how much difference is teh S14 and teh S15 as trunk lid goes.. rear fenders.. hard to convert??
rear bumpers and lights is a given that they are different.. but does teh rear trunk lid fit.. ??
thanks,
Drift Style S14

Search button, its the red one. I hope you have tons of money cause thats what its going to cost. as for the convertion its simple, get a set of rear lights and go to your local body shop and tell what you want.

ppl have discussed this time after time after time. i haven't seen one done, well, actually the kazama car has it done i think. but ppl claim it is hideous because the s14 body is too wide for the s15 ligths. but there are lots of ugly cars with every conversion you can thing of that doesnt match out there.

Why do you need a kouki S14 to do this S15 conversion? IMO you're just killing off another uber-rare 97-98 240SX. They were only made from 97-98, in other words, you ain't be findin' a 99 240 over here. If you want to do this conversion so badly just get a 95-96 240SX. Those will be cheaper and more abundant than the kouki S14. The thing that will be hard about the rear fenders is that it's not 2 fenders like the front. The whole roof/rear end is one piece. So have fun with that. Also, be prepared to saw your arm off in exchange for rear end parts as well.

hehe front the sounds of it.. just an arm isnt' enuff.. but my leg is up for grabs! hahah..
eyah.. i agree that the rear lights aren't the nicest.. but if i'm going to go converting the front.. ight as well do the rear too.. would it be cheaper to import one over?!? hehe

Actually I think there were only like 5800 made. All the more reason NOT to amend one.

well here is my suggestion
go ahead and get the newer style 240sx (1997-1998)and do your best to make sure it is white.
do the s15 front conversion which wont cost TOO much. i think maybe like 1500? (i am just guessing guys) then i will go ahead and take that old front end off your hands for like $500 (is that cool?)
after that you are gonna have to get s15 taillights which should be around like $500 maybe (again i am just gussing) and i will once again take the rear taillights off your hands for like $100 or something.
this way you will make alittle bit of money back by me buying your old parts which will be uuseless.

Dude, the front end conversion alone is going to cost you at least $2,500 and you can forget about the rear... it's just not going to happen. You might as well just import an S15, I was offered one for about $16,000. No, it won't be street legal, but sh*t, neither is my car. Plus you'll be right hand drive and all the ricers will bow down before you as you will be their new God. That's all I got :)

humm.. import an s15.. almost sounds better.. were there any other countries that HAD/HAVE the S15.. but LHD??

Yea, $2,000 for the parts, now add the paint and you have at least that $2,500 number I was talking about. As far as other countries, good luck trying to import a car from somewhere other than Japan. The only reason it's reasonably priced from there is because there is a huge market for it. Regardless, I don't think those cars ever made it to LHD countries, only Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

you guys, people have their own taste in what they want to do with thier cars. i bet if you guys seen a s14 front end on a 180sx WITH the s14 kouki rear lights at tokyo auto salon you would've been like oh shit!!! anyway, the s15 rear has been done. this was way back at the shop where i did my s15 conversion at. i remember the car perfect. it was from "team avr" a purplish color, under the hood was a KA-T. this guy had a hold of the top trunk part of the s15 rear. when it was done it looked perfect. one of the cleanest conversions i've ever seen. but i think he killed it with the fender flares sticking out. i don't know where the hell this car been though.
