since the US 240 doesn't come with much hp, i kno puttin a turbo in it's a good way to make some serious rwhp boosts. but becuz of my high *** mileage (130k on a 96 240sx) and strict California smog emission rules, i was wondering if an all motor KA is even an option, as in, how much power can you get from just upgrading the motor, without turbo or an engine swap. i won't ask for suggestions of what to get for fear of flames but any help would be nice....thanks

my understanding of making an n/a motor produce high hp comes from one important thing. being able to rev high and the ka simply cant do that. it looses it's 'oomppp' at about 5500 so theres nothing you can really do, unless you got a lot of money to redesign a head.

high hp n/a cars also rely heavily on displacement, air flow, high compression ratio, but actually. mainly AIR FLOW.. no restrictive intake boxes.

There are tub-frame race cars getting perhaps upwards of ~260hp with the 12 valve.

Its expensive, and still not legal.

ic, thanks, i guess i'll just try and work with a turbo in that case, seems like a high hp n/a is alotta work for not as much power, and i like my 240 too much to go to honda, nothing against them, my dad owns a repair shop for em, but i like RWD, newayz, neone ever smog with the Greddy kit that's supposed to pass the emissions tests? also, where does one find low mileage KA's, around the Cali area if possible?? thanks...

actually, n/a rx7s can be made to be pretty fast too. i believe rotary engines rev pretty high, but i have no clue on how a rotory works or where to start to make those engines perform. put a carburator on it?
