For the guys out there needing a new alternator for your sr20det and have not found any other info other than grinding down your KA alternator and swapping pulleys and all these crazy things. And instead of getting it rebuilt why not just get a new one? Theres a much simpler way.
*I do apologize if this is old news but I couldn't find it out any where.
1) buy a 1996 200sx BOSCH alternator its about $140 with a switched core.
2) Theres four bolts that hold the front of the alternator cover in, unbolt those.
3) Take off the pulley
4) swap the covers (on my alternator from bosch, there was a sticker that even noted the interchangeability of the cover)
Heres the final result below
