San Diego caravan to D1 Grand Prix?

Is anyone gonna go to the D1 GP on the 31st? If so, maybe we can meet up and roll up there. So far, i have my other firend with an S14 to go with me. Anyone else? This event is gonna rock!!!! :rawk:

What time are you leaving Chris? Even if you are gone already SpeedAlliance might be as good a place as any to meet for a caravan.

If the event starts @ 3pm I plan to leave here around 12pm in order to get my tickets and all that.

Anyone else? How long does it take to drive up there?

Meeting up at Speed Alliance is a great idea. It took me an hour and a half to irwindale, but i left at 8 in the morning. Leaving from 11 to 12 is good enough. I think the car show starts at 3 and the drift event starts at 5. I could care less about the car show, but if you guys wanna be there at 3, then it's fine with me.

I figure on having to stand in line for my tickets. I don't know how long that takes, but I personally want to maximise my time at this event even if it is just a car show to start out with.

Well Chris says its ok to use his place to meet.

I say anyone interested meet there @ 12-12:30pm with the aim of being on the road by 12:30pm. Mid-day traffic will suck all the way up there so leaving that early will work out pretty well I think.

Any objections or better ideas?

I would recommend that you all leave at around 10-11 am. BRING LOTS OF WATER!!!!

I anticipate the line forming very early in the morning.

Wouldn't want you guys to arrive at 2 and be stuck for hours....

I think the ticket booth opens at 10. I talked to my other friend yesterday and he reminded me to bring a backpack or some sort of bag to carry. Why? Because you're gonna need to bring lots of WATER and FOOD. It's also helpful to have a backpack when you free-load off of vendors. Hehe. Oh yeah, bring sunscreen. If you guys want, we can leave at 8:30, be there at 10, buy tickets, and then shoot the $hit till 3, which is a really long time, so i dunno.

i personally recommend leaving early, how early is up to you guys. I do know that everyone will be at will call picking up their tix, which means like 1000+ people in line.

I say we meet there around 9:45am and be on the road @ 10am. If we meet @ 10am, we will never get out on the road before 10:30 or 10:45. The more people the worse it gets.

Personally, I will not deviate very much from my ideal schedule. It would be really cool if a buch of cars show up and we all drive up together. I personally will not wait around for other people showing up late.
