ok long story short, rebuilt a ka24de, new pistons, rings, bearing the whole deal. got the car running yesturday ran it for a few moments turned it off and called it a day, this morning i come to start it, it wont crank, i try turning it over with a 27mm socket crank doesn't turn, removed the spark plugs which were oily and smelled like gas cleaned them and put them back in, and the motor starts to crank agian, shortly again same problem it wont turn over, what could be the problem? someone told me too much pressure in the head? any suggestions on what to do.

did you forget a gasekt between the spark plug holes and the head?

How about an small gasket on the front lower timing cover between the oil sending unit and the block? (probably not if there is definatly oil in your head)

Also, did you use any engine assembly lube on your bearings and cams and such? How about placing a thin layer along your piston walls before you started for the first time?

where are you venting your crank case breather?

did you change your oil after your first start (looking for debris, like broken rings, spun bearings?)

How's that timing? you set it to TDC checking with piston stop or dial indicator before starting the engine? how about turning it over by hand several times after first assembly to make sure no valves were hitting the pistons?

Did you replace any valve seals in this rebuld?

Any smoke, noises etc?

Is this the same engine that came with the car? aka, no ECU differences or anything?

starter may be locked up. i sent 600 bucks on a motor to find out the starter was locked up causing the motor not to turn over.

Irrelevant. He is getting oil/gas on his spark plugs.

How much oil did you put in? Is this your first time rebuilding a motor?

already got it fixed, for the oil i forgot the gasket that goes in the middle of the valve cover for the spark plugs, and for the hydrolocking problem it was the injectors 2 of them had bad o-rings. problem fixed car runs like a champ
