I doubt many of you know me but i have been reading and posting every now and then on this forum for quite some time now. There for i just needed a place to vent and i have felt like i have grown to know all of you and your helpful posts.
A little back ground info on me before i tell my story so you might not judge me as harshly based on my new situation. I have been a volunteer firefighter since i became 18 years old. I have been strongly against drinking and driving and even picked up freinds at all times of the night since i got my license so they wouldn't. I work almost full time and go to college full time.

Last Saturday night i went to a party and drank then drove home with 2 freinds. On the way home i was stopped at a redlight and tried to act like a bad *** and spun out only to look over and see two cops. They blue lighted me and i didn't stop. i went on a chase through a neighborhood and on 2 main roads in South carolina. Before i crossed over into GA one of the pursueing officers said he got up to 120 trying to catch up with me after the neighborhood. THen i crossed over into Georgia and slowed down to pass a car and one of the cops got about 200 yards behind me. i went through a radical series of turns through the ghetto of Augusta. Then with the cop aprox 3 blocks behind me i took a hard left onto a dead end street grazing a curb that exploded my tire. to make a long story short it took about 30 seconds for one cop to catch up with me and ask me to get out of car at gun point. about 3 minutes for the second cop to find us, and about 20 mins for the augusta cops to find us.

The georgia cop that arrested me saturday night decided to give me a break and charge me with Minor in Possesion of Alcohol instead of a DUI.( I blew a .1) My freinds also recieved MIP's
i served a night in jail in augusta then monday night i turned myself into the South carolina authorities. I had three tickets. Failure to stop for blue lights and sirens(a high misdominor),improper start from stop, and no license in possesion. I spent monday night in another larger jail and go out just in time for work. Becuase of my mistake and the time/money im facing for these crimes it is doubtful i can still attend college and i will proubly lose my license after my court date.
Im sorry i wasted so much space on this forum but i had to vent somewhere.
thanks
sean

My question to you is, why didn't you stop at the beginning? You got lucky you didn't injure anyone. I hope everything works out for you but it looks pretty dim. I hope that you can still attend college afterwards because it would be a shame to throw away your future for 1 reckless night.

wow man....why didn't you stop?

anywho...you can never really give up on college...its all based on your mentality(sp?). Basically what I mean is....you can always go back to college (even 2yrs from now). Everything will work out fine...just not to your liking. Of course you have learned your lesson and hoping can spread it out to your friends.

Unfortunately, that is life. I understand that you were under the influence, but that choice to drive could have been made way before. The passengers could have perished and your family and theirs might have been even more so destroyed.

You sound like maybe it dawned on you about your erroneous ways, and I hope for your sake, that you won't do it again. I mean, you are a volunteer firefighter, the only true heroes in my book because they don't get paid much, if anything and risk their lives daily. Unlike punk cops.

I am glad that you made it out o.k. and hope that this situation would appeal to most of the forum readers as a warning and the consequences there of.

Everyone makes mistakes, some worse then others but it happens. At least everyone was ok and not hurt.

Sometimes we do stupid **** and get punished for it. Just don't feel like this is the end of the world. Life goes on. Think about it. You could have been seriously injured or died while running away from the cops or could have harmed someone else. Just remember that you and your passengers get to live another day but things will be different for you. Think of it as a minor set back and don't ever give up on college.

I don't know how this compares but last summer I was pulled over for going really fast. It was late at night and I was really tired and I was trying to get down to San Diego as fast as I could. Ultimately I had to pay a large fine and get my license suspended for a month. My car insurance doubled but I am still here to talk about it. I have reformed my ways and I will never drive that fast ever again...on the streets that is :D . My parents were really upset with me but the only thing that I have lost is money and this can be earned by working. I still have my life and my family and I am greatful. Just think of the good things. In the next couple of weeks, focus on the positive. I had to deal with my parents and I'm assuming since you are 18, you prolly have to deal with yours. Remember to remind your parents to lay off of you because you have learned your lesson and that there is no reason to harass you any more because in my case, they were making things worse for me. They love you and will understand.

man that sucks donkey slong... im glad you and your friends are alright... you are very lucky to be alive... and im glad you learned your lesson... but the fines might hold you back from college... but not forever... keep that in mind... youll get through it... sh*t happens and we all know that... and im sure all of us on this board aren't saints...but all in all, im glad your okay, and dont have to spend years in prison... lifes short so live it every once in a while... but if something happens, be a man and take responsibility for it (like your doing now...)hopefully it'll work out in the end...

PS at least you got a dope azz cop chase story to tel your kids..;)

been in your position before.... but I didn't have anything to drink. That feeling when you're getting chased and you are wondering why you ran anyways? Luckily I didn't go to jail. Good luck man, it's not the end of the world, just think about the guys who are actually spending hard time in jail.. Oh well, next time, make sure you know the neighborhood before you run... I mean don't do it again.

At least it's good to see someone running from the cops.
But DON'T EVER DRINK AND DRIVE man, do it for your self, your family, and for everyone else on the streets. But you can dip on the fuzz as much as you want. If you can smoke them, more power to ya!

Ohh yeah, sucks to hear. :(

I hope you come out of this OK man, everyone has hard times, the winners in life are the ones that never give up and get swept away in the sh*t river.

Dont worry (as much), if you use your head and try to surround yourself with good, inteligent people, you will be OK in the end.

I talked to the Pre Trail Intervention people today, and if i get selected to particpate they will drop the charge. and even though my fire department kicked me off the chief said he no problem with me working my community service through them.
My parents have basicly put me on house arrest and are not letting me hang out with any of my old freinds. Even though i am 19 and a legal adult im just going to take some proper motavation to just go to work and school.

Monday i actually went to school at 8 oclock got out at 4:20, went to work, then turned myself in and went to jail. the transtion from people i met through out the day was enough to make me sick.

I really hope this post will make people think 2wice about running from the police. I don't care how much of a rush it is, its a hell of a gamble.
Im really going to finish school at all cost whether i have to join the army to help pay since im so close to getting my first degree.

i really appricate the response guys.

And i didn't stop mainly i guess bc the alcohol effected my judgement to a certian extent. And yes it was my fault i didn't get a DD so i have no excuses just oh ****'s. being sober i would have never ran from the cops through a residentional neighborhood especially.

never run in a car, always run on foot. I have escaped the police on foot 3 times, and no, none of it was for anything bad. hell, what I was doin is legal in some countries.

I've actually dumped my car on someone elses drive way once in some neighborhood i didn't even know got out and ran on foot once. Thats they way to go. I actually don't believe in trying to out run cops in cars, to dangerous and the punishments are to hard.

But for you administrative Dui. I got that like 4 months ago. Plead to the judge that your going to skool and you can't have your licnese taken away else you'll have to drop out of skool. I'm some situations the judge can speed up the pocess of getting your temp. license that allows you to drive to skool and home only if he feels bad for you. Otherwise you leave court with no license and have to wait a couple weeks for the DMV to get and approve your request for the temp. license. PLEAD LIKE HELL! show a lot of sympathy, thats all i can say.

If you are willingly breaking the law (as is the case here) then running from the cops is 1) irresponsible, 2) dangerous, and 3) can make a minor infraction 10x worse.

But hey, "it's good to see someone running from the cops". I'll see you on Fox sometime then.

I bet you wont ever do that again...

As a reminder for myself I put my ticket in my car along with the court costs... I see it every time I change CD's... Reminds me that I could have had the Duel N1 that I was guna get and not pay the city.

This sounds like Deja Vu. My friend and I had the same crap happen to us almost 4 months ago. I wasn't driving my friend was and we were pulled over because he was showing off and didn't really speed too much (just 10 over) and we were pulled over and he was arrested and charged with MIP, poss. of alcohol, poss. of marijuana, DUI, and someother stupid fine like poss. of liquor. He got a lawyer and every charge was dropped except DUI. My advice is get a lawyer, they really do help. I know how you feel man, I have always felt like that night was my fault, cause he was driving me around to get more beer. Also, I have had to lug his @ss to work everyday. Sorry to hear man.

ok dude. im sorry happened that way, but im not gonna say "why didnt you stop" or something like that. because we all make mistakes. error is what makes us human. i did same dumb **** 4 years ago involving high speed chase and 6 police cars (yes i made it to da papers and i blew .486) the point isnt in that tho. You got off Easy since he gave you a break.

as far as school, dont make it an excuse for yourself not to go. theres always ways around it, and not having a car for 2 years (Well, at least not driving it) will be a positive thing on your academic success (trust me on this one "bein there dun dat")

eitherway, its good nobody got hurt or that sort of thing. eitherway, i think you got a (hopefully) once a lifetime experience of running like that. is that ****ing aDRENALINE pumping, yes, yes, you can almost shake from that **** in your veins and oh ****, you mess up blow a tire. damn dude, hope everything works out, worked out for me, it was worse too.

its good to hear that people are starting to run from cops in 240SX's now, I thought this was only reserved for older Z31 300ZX's! I am very accustomed to seeing Z31's running from the po-pos because of the cocaine stashed away in the wheel well.. but, S13s have good storage compartments too! Woot woooot!

ps: Russian, you ran from the cops because you are russian, period. :)

wow that's pretty nuts, but from the way i see it, you got off real lucky. where i'm from south cali, blowing a .1 (did you mean .01?) would definitely get you a DUI especially if you're not 21!!! gettin an MIP is lucky enough, second running from the cops would get ya alot more then pricey fines and a suspended license, well actually guaranteed jail time. for sure. alcohol plus running from the cops is a sure fire way to spend some hard time in the slammer over here. i'm amazed you got off on what you did, you should feel lucky, specially since you nor your buddies or anyone else got hurt, but yah i'm sure you learned your lesson, i kno i have from my similar (not quite as crazy) experiences

ey man, i feel your pain, im in the process right now of getting my license suspended or taken away forever, scicne the DMV takes ur license away forever if u have a felony with a car, it sucks to think about losing your license, then whats the point of school, so u can make money and put a skyline in ur driveway and u cant drive? im not saying **** everything, im just saying what i would do if i lost my license forever, my court=sept 5, 2003 wish me luck, hopefully a restricted license of school and work (thats all i need it for, the rest the girlfriend can take care) will come my way... get a lawyer, they do a excellent job, but if ur parents arnt paying for it....( i oculda had a rb25 INSIDE right now)

i dunno why u ran, if they didn't catch you then, they would've found u by your plates. but oh well. good luck and don't do anything like that again. take responsibility and maybe the judge will let you off easy. you could've easily ran someone over and be up for manslaughter or something.

Im not going to lie i have ran on two previos occasions but the situations where 100% different. First and formost i was never intoxicated! Once on the insterstate when the cop was going to opposite direction(and no turn arounds for 4 miles and my exit was about .5 miles ahead) and once on a completly unpopulated 4 lane back road while racing a another 240sx. never again will i bc i now i fully understand the consquences* even if it is the most favorable conditions.(plus now i drive like my gma so maybe i can live past 19 and have enough points to drive!)
