I was wondering if getting an aftermarket intake manifold for a kade s13 would require adjusting anything in the ecu or a reflash. And how I would go about doing that. And what electronics would be a good idea.

No that's the beauty of a maf based system.
Tuning the car to start/run without a IACV if your aftermarket intake doesn't have connections for the stock one is another story though.

trace the big hose that comes off the factory intake tube; it leads to the IACV. You won't get any power gains from this upgrade...

I'd more or less agree with you, but what if he's upgraded everything but the intake?

Like if he's got a n60 or n62 maf, 3" intake pipe, ported/polished ports on the head (intake and exhaust), cams, exhaust, q45 throttlebody etc.. he'd see power increase from it then up high rpm's.

I always delete the iacv on my cars, I weld a plate of aluminum on the ports, iacv is so dumb on older cars, they're all bad in some way, and with turbo'd cars they go even quicker. delete it, and never worry about idle problems.

ok... its seems you guys know more about this car than i do... i just bought it 2 months ago. my first 240 ever. ive never really built a motor before but i have a basic understanding of what to do and where shit goes. i just dont know anything about tuning factory ecus, sensors, mapping, or anything electronic. since ive had it ive been fixing whats been wrong with it. but ive finally fixed the maf (soldered it back together), welded the shitty exhaust back together, and fixed god knows how many leaks. but shes solid now. and im ready for basic mods at the moment. i dont want to get balls deep and buy pistons or rods yet. so if you could help me with understanding electronics i would appreciate it... at the moment i only have an aem cold air intake.... that is completely coated on the inside with solidified p/s fluid from when the high pressure hose blew. its also in my intake manifold so thats why i was asking my original question. pls help. and if anyone has parts to sell let me know...
