Hey guys, this is my first time posting on nissan forums. Not alot of members seemed to have posted the info I'm looking for.
Here is my 1st build: S2000 Forums -> krnmike blog : S2KI (http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=708311&st=0)
My 2nd build will be an s13.
I need help with some specs for the rocket bunny s13 kit.
I'm not sure which rocket bunny I will get, but I'm looking for the following info that i couldn't find anywhere:
1. wheel spec / tire spec
2. suspension (Im planning on JRZ or motons)
3. who sells those 2 kits
I probably won't use the same spec, but it would be nice to know a ball park of what the measurements are.

I'd say judging from your S2000 build money isn't really a issue. Great taste going with Rockey Bunny if you do commit to it, I'd say get the Wheels rocket bunny uses which if I'm not mistaken are BBS mesh wheels. Only reason I say that is cause they are the only wheels that really make this kit look right. I believe 95KA-turbo has these wheels in 18's.

You can calculate your fittement very easily. The fenders are +40/60mm. If you see nice fitment with 30/50, do the maths ;)
I opted for KP overs because I dont like how the flares are built-in the skirts.

Fad.- A fashion that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time; a craze.
^ clearly means it has to be embraced and done by many then has to fall off after a short period of time.
Rocket Bunny will never lose it's appeal. and the BBS wheels truly set it off.

Because he is ignorant
Because in 2008 or whenever America discovered it, everyone was obsessing over how awesome it looks, including me.
Then a few people got it, and no one has come close to making it look as good as the demo car. With every new car I see it on I like it a little less.
On fastbacks it looks absolutely horrible in my opinion, especially with those goofy flares. On coupes and S14's it can look great, as long as the car is low. Unfortunately, none of the cars I have seen it on were low enough.
97240TB
10-14-2010, 05:59 PM
I shouldn't humor you with a response but I will... People still nurse a chubby when someone talks about these kits, Most of the cars I've seen with Rocket Bunny are strictly track cars. If someone built a street car with one of these kits they could make it low enough to work. Just cause people haven't made it look good doesn't make the kit itself look bad, They're just doing it all wrong.

FROM A BLOG:
(T.R.A Kyoto, 6666 Customs: Rocket Bunny - GT-Rodeo Special).
Nissan S13 Year: 1990
Front: 16x9.5 Offset: +11 (tire: 205/45)
Rear: 16x10.0 Offset: +11 (tire: 225/50)
General notes:
- Rocket Bunny fenders
- R33 five-lug hub
- R33 30mm calipers
- R33 oversized Nismo rotors
- Kei Office coilover suspension (front 8kg and rear 6kg), pillow-ball mount
- Owner Kei Miura
- tra-kyoto.com
Why did they convert to the r33 hub? If I choose to stay with just the s13 hubs, can I still get the same wheel offset as theirs (or are the hub thickness of e33 and s13 different)?

well mainly probably because the R33 is 5-lug whereas the s13 is only 4... and then also the calipers
and you could possibly find the same wheels.... (maybe im not to good with bbs) but itd be MUCH harder.

theres a company that makes rims for 3 piece wheels so u can go with whichever width you'd like. ive had my times with soft wheels so im likely to go with ce28n.
it seems like people went with the r33 hubs just because couple years back, that's the only 5 lug conversion they had available?
correct me if im wrong, these are what i found:
1. there are now aftermarket hubs / bearings for sale
2. people prefer r33 / s14 / OEM hubs over aftermarket due to quality.
3. most posts about r33 hub swaps are from 4 years ago where aftermarket 5 lug conversions weren't widely available?
4. i can get the aftermarket and put in OEM bearings.

Nothing compares to the demo cars because.....It has all the right parts. Even the yellow one with the stupid fender flares looks hard because of the color and wheels.

Please do this! With an extremely detailed build thread that has a brisk pace.
Your hub and bearing info is correct by the way....However i am guessing that in this particular case they probably r33 hubs rotors and calipers all from the same car swapped right on. Thus why r33 over s14 or z32 etc.
Also...Please do this as a daily/track setup. Have you decided Hatch or Coupe yet?

Pretty sure BBS doesn't offer this wheel in a 4 lug option with those sizes width's and offset. Hell i don't think they offer that wheel at all in 4 lug.
As far as the hate goes for the flares... They give the car it's overall look, If this guy spends as much time on this car as he did his S2000. I have no doubt in my mind he'll do it justice.

i won't be getting the huge overfender kit. with the power i am aiming at, it would only slow me down + even more with the deep lip wheels. the 1st bunny rocket kit seems very well / easily made.
yes, please stand by for my build coming up! im currently in the market browsing through some s13 coupes. once i find a perfect one for my build, the build will start immediately.

You certainly do, but $2,600 is awfully expensive to ship a kit, even from Japan. You could ship a car here for that.
It's admittedly Fedex, which implies airmail. Car quotes are generally by sea container.

If $2600 is the shipping charge, that's outrageous, even for air shipping. We air freighted kits to Australia before and it was not that much.
We imported over half dozen Tra kyoto kits already and we don't charge close to that.

I always laugh at DHL or FedEX pricing from RHD for certain items. I was quoted something like $600 to ship a front bumper. Now most people would have other means of shipping a kit from Japan to their home country. No one in their right mind would pay that much to ship this to them, but the total cost is still up there.

PS, everyone should stay out of this thread unless you can help the OP with what he asked. Like wheel fitment, size, where to buy, etc.
Most of you (like me) just used it as an excuse to debate something. GTFO.

Yeah well no shit you have to pay to play. But in the end 1000 is way too much to ship anything. That is dumb expensive, and the kit itself is really expensive. I love it, it is probably the only kit I want for my car, and for the price of the kit you would think it would be made of polyuerethane not thin fiber glass. Anyway, Im not stupid I know you gotta pay to play.

Thats what happens when you spend a loot on a kit and another $5k on paint. Last thing you want is have that shit breaking. Okinawan parking lots are not very forgiving.

Wow, thats a long wait. I gotcha. I liked the regular Rockey Bunny stuff at first, but now they just seem to chunky and bulky to me. I dunno. Personally, I like how similar the kits are but I prefer the organic curves of the Ben Sopra aero. Flows better on a hatch, IMO. Makes it look a little less dated.

Nice. I just want the overfenders & ducktail spoiler. Should be less than half that price, I hope.
Hey, what up with those bolts below the door, where skirts would normally be?

Would it have taken much time to make a cover for the rear bumper area? The car doesn't look bad but the rear is terrible, Looks very unfinished, or atleast give blockoff plates for the OEM trunk mounting locations.

^I agree, kit looks unfinished.. A simple round bumper would have look solid with the kit.
The price of the GT wing is ranged $4000-5000

Those holes are mounting points for regular 180sx Kouki Sideskirts. It looks like sideskirts added on but its just the plain hard body.
