i removed the cont assy entrance from my 240sx s14 what is it for?

i took the control assy entrance under my dash in the left hand corner it had a gray cable hooked up to it that runs along the side of the drivers headliner and it also had a thick cable i am guessing it was used for the automatic transmission and its no longer needed but i wanted someone elses opinion. Pm me with suggestion my car is apart interior dash and engine is getting built...

Bad move.

That unit controls the OE keyless, alarm system, power door locks, key warning buzzer, and the rear defroster timer. The cable is the antenna for the keyless unit, it plugs into the bottom of the rear window.

Put it back in.
