Yup im a newbie to 240's/ Nissan, I was a vortex guy for about 3yrs hehe yeah i know there A$$'s anyhow I have a 95 Zenki and couldnt help but wonder how close are the headlights in comparison to the R33 and R32's they look to be real close in size etc according to a couple picks i have... but i highly doubt they are, but somone shed some light here... even if there not a direct fit, has anyone installed them? I tried the search but had no luck...:aw:
They arent a direct fit but anything can be made to fit with bodywork.

Has anyone just take apart there Zenki's and painted the chrome housing black? I thought that might look ok... if they have can somone post or give me a link to them?
You could paint the silver part but then no light would come out of your headlight.

Light would still come out, As long as the clear cover was there with a bulb light would still be comng out...take for instance: ( i know bad example but still fact,) Hondas headlights come with chrome housing but they make ones with black housing, same as VW there european headlights also known as e codes have a black housing on the inside... so light still comes out... do we know of anyone who has taken there Zenkis and done this?

hes right, theyre reflectors. if you paint them they wont reflect anything, thus ruining your lights. youre a self proclaimed n00b, yet you try to correct someone who knows what hes talking about.

See yes I am a New, Im just stating from prior experiances they work....? I know that they reflectors but i didnt know how much they actually reflected.... I am a new person to 240's but not to cars in general..maybe the 240 have a lower wattage of light output or somthin? Because like i had said beofre the differences on Vw and hondas were the black housing I didnt know the reflecter changed it that much...;) I stand newly informed,;) I wasnt being rude I was infact just questioning because of the prior info i had.. thanx
I don't know for sure since I've never inspected zenki lights up close but I dont think it has the same kind of reflector housing that hondas have. I think hondas have a deflector housing around the bulb which shines onto the main reflector while zenki lights just have a straight reflector, but dont take my word for it, im talking out my ***.

You can spray paint the housing of your Zenki headlights. HOWEVER there is not much you can spray before you really affect your lighting performance. The pic I have include belongs to someone on 240SXforums and maybe this forum (SN: drg1). He painted most of the high beam reflector so you can tell that he did black housing. But he also mentioned lost performance in his high beams. But who really uses them?

That doesnt look to bad.... Should i be able to just heat it up(the housing) and then pry it apart? What do you think?

yea, you can paint it, but not the reflector parts, only the plastic that most likely wouldnt reflect any lighting, ive done it before, i know.. it doesnt affect lighting that much if you do it right.

Yea, you just need to heat up the housing and pry it apart. That's what I did with my headlights...I used an oven to heat up the housing. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL!!!! :aw:

When we went up north to pick up a motor my friend said "hey look there's an s14 here w/ r33 front" .....we all went over to look.
After about 10 seconds of silence we said "Um...that doesen't look as good as we thought"
10 seconds later "thats ugly"......
I thought it would look good...but it looks horrible.

Ive seen somebody retrofit the zenki headlights with Q45 projectors...blacked out everything else...looked badass, almost better than a kouki headlight :aw:

i think the r32 headlights looked pretty good.
They look great if you put some work into making them fit right, but if youre just going to throw them in there its going to look like butt.

Wouldn't it be nice to see zenki projectors like this? (see attachment). It would look much better in real life, but the photoshopped one still looks good. If I can get the money together, I'll try to make a set like these. If I do, I'll take lots of pictures to help everyone out.
WTF those are ugly in my opinion. Those belong on and only on BMWs. I only those halo, angel eyes, or demon eyes or whatever on 3's,5's, or 7's.

Those BMW lights do look goofy, but those projectors in the zenki are pure hotness. Only wy it could be better is with clear lenses. Also, those lights from the R32 are awesome too. Anyway, back to tthe original post, you asked about R33 lights on an s14, so here is thee link to the thread like a month ago with pics.
This person has th whole front end though, if you don't do things right, it will look like ass. I'm not really a fan of this one with the r33 front, but to each his own i guess.

it doesnt work like that.
e-code headlamps are for europe, it has nothing to do with appearance.. it has to do with lighting pattern. dont get confused with these absolutely STUPID bandwagon descriptions, "euro-clear" and all that.. doesnt make sense. there are two types of headlamps: e-code and DOT, period.
if your headlamp is a reflector style headlamp, its CRUCIAL that the reflector is highly polished and visible so that it REFLECTS that light forward, hence the name of the headlamp. if your lamp is a projector, its STILL crucial that the inside housing is mirror polished, this will result in a headlamp that emits as much light as possible.
come on now, THINK please. :)

That's funny...
AceInHole made a chopped pic similar to that one (BMW "angel eyes"). However it was posted almost 2yrs ago.

When I spoke of the E-codes I waas refering to the european market headlights for VW's, I know that the ligthing pattern is different, but keep in mind that not all ecodes are a cetain light pattern. Some are made for driving on the right side of the road, the others are for the left. not all countries in Europe drive on the left hand side. Also I didnt know about the makes of vehicles I only knew the Vw ones. The vw's are the same as the state side ones, except for the glass is tinted and the housing is black on the inside. Ill see if I can round up an old set i have laying around in my garage and give ya a pic... I believe I still have them.. I didnt know about the differences with the Nissan lights etc thats why I asked.... I maybe a new guy to Nissan but im not new to cars in general. I was in to the Vw thing for about 5 yrs.

what is with these HYPER-STUPID descriptions in the automotive industry? you guys are just sheep being marketed with words like "euro-clear" and "altezza."
The word HYPER-BLACK does not exist. The word you are looking for is BLACK CHROME. It is a chrome base coat with a transparent BLACK/SMOKE top coat.
I cannot stand hearing people use words like "HYPER/HIPER" white.. its ULTRA-LAME. Blah!
