Hey there everyone! recently purchased a 240 that has a sr20det swapped in it. Love the car but when I start the car the gas pedal needs to be pumped a few times in order for it to start. It has the walbro fuel pump and I can hear it starting to pump when I put the key in and turn it.

I have tried to start it without pumping the gas and it just cranks, but when I pump the gas it typically starts up.

Another thing is after driving it for about 30 minutes or so and turning it off and then trying to start it after several hours it seems like it is hard to start. Meaning it requires several attempts of the pumping and cranking then it finally does start...

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks...

you may have an injector leak. remove the fuel rail, place something underneath the injectors look for fuel.

Or adjust the AICV too allow more air, Or crack open the throttle a little then readjust the tps.

Pumping the gas pedal basically control the amount of air the engine sees, the ecu uses sensors to inject the correct amount of fuel.

to test this open the AICV all the way just count the turns or mark it so you can set it back if it doesn't work like I think it should.;)
