The Good:
Engine runs perfectly, has been obsessively maintained like a first car should be. Mild modifications to the intake, headers, exhaust, and throttle body gives it a nice growl when you get on the throttle. Records of service going back to 2002, when I got the car. At least so long as I've owned it, it's never been tracked, dragged, autocrossed, or run to redline. The clutch grabs strong, and the transmission doesn't grind at all once it's warmed up (it does occasionally grind into 2nd if the engine is cold). Mild suspension modifications give it a nice, slightly lowered stance while retaining decent street comfort. 300ZX front brakes, stainless steel brakelines all around, and fresh Superblue brake fluid mean it stops plenty fast.
The Bad:
The body needs work. There's major rust on the driver's side fender (I have replacement fiberglass fenders on hand, and can include them in the sale). The trunk has holes where a spoiler used to be, and there are a few other areas with scrapes, dings, or scratches too. The struts are starting to show their age, and could use replacing. There are some cracks in the gauge-cluster plastic and the head-unit. The floormats look just as heavily used as they are.
The Rant:
I've had this car for 8 years. It's been there for me in good times and bad, and has run reliably the whole time. It's driven through a New Hampshire blizzard that covered the roads in a foot of snow, through a summer thunderstorm that turned the highway into a river, up dirt roads in the wilderness of Vermont, and through the worst traffic that Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. have to offer. It's been driven like hell down twisty mountain roads in upstate New York, it's been spun, it's held more people than a 2+2 sport compact EVER should, and it's terrified its fair share of bikers and tourists while barreling down New York City streets that would have professional rally drivers complaining about the pavement condition.
Why, then, am I selling the car? I've loved this car for 8 years, but it's time for a change. The 240 is at a point where it needs a decent bit of bodywork, and as a full-time student I don't have the time or money to give it the repairs and attention it deserves. It's also begun to seem silly to have such a large, practical car in New York City. Nothing would make me happier than to sell this car to someone with big plans for it - someone with as much love for this car as I've had for it over the years.
The price is negotiable, and I'm open to reasonable offers. You can come see the car whenever I'm free to show it (Mondays or Tuesdays in the afternoon / evening are best).

And just for you Zilvia folks:
I've got lots of extra parts lying around that could be included in the sale for free or for extra $
(depends on the part - Metal Master pads or 300ZX BMC? free. Widebody fiberglass fenders, 5-lug swap, or a mostly-complete high quality turbo kit? $, but less than I paid for them.)
$3500, OBO.
