yep...thanks lol im tired im going to bed i cant make up my mind hope theres a reply tommarrow
Im in the same boat as you man. i got a 89 auto also.
I dont exactly know what you are asking but i tihnk yea you can give your car and your engine to a shop and they'll install it for you. But before getting a engine, do alot of researcha bout your car and the engine because your bounf to run into problems in the future. Always prepare for the worst.
I'm broke right now so since i dont enough to get anything i research on the stuff that i would want to get.

First...don't go to a body shop...they(for the most part)have no idea about engines.
Second...IF you do buy an SR, take it to a reputable shop for installation...i.e. not billybob at the local garage. Make sure it is someone that knows Nissans, more directly has DONE the SR swap in a 240 prior and gotten it to run.
hope that helps you out, just don't let anyone do it. Make sure they are competent(sp?) oh well I am tired...uughhh nevermind it is Sat at 840...I am goign back to bed!:D

How hard was it to save up that $700. If it wasn't too bad, keep saving and go for a swap. As far as I remember Heavy Throttle is on the East coast...too far from Oregon. I cant give you advice on West coat shop as I'm not out there. The good news is when you swap in an SR, they can also switch your car over to manual transmission. The bad news, I've seen most shops charge an additional $700 for this. My advice to you would be to just keep saving up, and by the time you have enough money....if you are still into your car....go for it.

if I were in your situation and wanted to go ahead and blow some money I would do a full tune up on your car (change fluids, plugs, oe wires, dist., etc.), source together the parts for a auto to manual swap, then buy some decent tires and decide where you want to take your car from there
