2010 MLB Post Season

So i know most division leaders have already clinched their titles but man the NL West is close ( between the SF Giants & SD Padres).

Its definitely going to come down to the next couple of games. SF and SD have been switching off 1st place the whole month of September. The Giants won a huge game yesterday against the D-Backs which puts them 2 games up in 1st place. San Diego lost and so did Colorado which means the Rockies are eliminated.

2 games up and 5 games left (including the game today). the magic number is 4. Shits about to get real crazy in downtown the closer it gets to the weekend.

I know there has to be tons of baseball fans on here, so feel free to express your feelings towards your home teams ( even if they didnt make it).

if the Giants make it to post season they are a forced to be reckoned with. our Starting rotation is strong, the offense is there, and the bullpen has been lights-out.

I haven't really been paying attention to the other divisions so please chime in.

I made this thread so we can all help each other keep track of the race to the World Series. dont let this thread die! !

I really could care less about the NL West, since I'm an Angel's fan, but I'd rather have the Giants win
the division instead of the Padres. I just can't stand anything to do with SD sports (Chargers/Padres).

I watched a couple Giants games this season up at AT&T park (where they let you watch for free) and the
atmosphere was amazing.

I will be rooting for the Giants this postseason.

Yeah man nothing compares to the atmosphere at AT&T park. I honestly feel that the bay area is blessed with the best sports fan base, because no matter what team,sport,or win loss record they carry. Their fans are there 100% whether it be the 49ers, Raiders, A's, Giants, Sharks, Warriors,etc. I dont have tickets to any of the upcoming games, but i do know Friday ( the day we may clinch the title) im going to be somewhere near the park cheering the Giants on.

The new magic number is 3 since both the Giants and the Padres won. everyone in San Francisco can feel it man, the energy and vibe from all of the fans is amazing. It's been too long since we have reached the post season. This is the year.

Whats wrong with San Diego Sports? The last series at SF will decide it all. I have a feeling its going to the last game. Padres were a real big surprise this year considering their players and the last couple of years. Sad to say that most of the good players will get traded out of the team as usual for more minor leaguers and thus creating another surprise team in a couple of years. I think SD deserves to win it because of what they have accomplished since the beginning of the year. But if they can't finish it, it will be disappointing.
I call SF and SD to win today.

I doubt San Diego is going to win. not only are they 2 games back, but the last game is at At&T park where the giants are 17 games above 500. And its going to be tough playing in an atmosphere like at&t park. and you guys are going up against Cain in the series opener tomorrow. He has been solid in his last couple of outings. Zito? ehhhh i wasn't really looking forward to him pitching anyway.lol. He's fallen off big time and we might even let him go next year. There was even talk about taking him out of the starting rotation if we make it to the post season.

Lincecum, Cain, and Sanchez are for sure in the rotation. They still haven't entirely stated who is going to pitch 4th between Bumgarner and Zito. I guess it will depend on where they stand after 3 games.

i also heard the park was a madhouse yesterday and radio show this morning were discussing people openly smoking marijuana and walking around the ballpark lol. one of the djs claimed it was legal as long as you had the note/card and they were taking calls to discuss the matter.

dude they weren't kidding. walking down the ramps which takes you all the way back to the entrance was terrible. it was consumed with the smell of marijuana, and its totally inconsiderate. looking around seeing babies being carried and kids walking with their parents through this lingering smell really makes me mad.

he's gotten involved in the game using our bullpen a million times this season and they rarely failed to deliver. and if you didn't know we have arguably one of the best bullpens in the league. although our bullpen failed to deliver last night the stats speak for themselves. Our starts are strong, but we don't need them to go the distance to win a game. what we need is better at bats, especially when its a clutch at bat.

today was definitely a good sign offensively. all the Giants players are coming to the plate with confidence and you can see it in their at bats. 8 runs without the help of the long ball. just flat out good batting.

I'm a Dodgers fan so I'm stuck not rooting for anyone. Even though my beef's with San Diego I still can't root for San Fran, but with the bandwagon Anaheim fans 40 minutes south of us always talking smack about the NL West being the weakest division in baseball (even though at best 2 of 4 AL West teams are over .500 while at worse theres usually at least 3 of 5 NL West teams over .500) I can't root for the AL West, except maybe Oakland. That's also why I dont like Bochy. He'll always be a Padre in my eyes.

So today was the celebration parade for the Giants all the way to city hall. They were given the key to the city and each player was able to voice some comments about the season.

there was an estimated over 1 million Giants fans showed up to support the Giants.

Arnold of course got boo'd by the ENTIRE crowd. lol. if you guys want to catch the encore of the parade it will be on at 1pm and 7pm tomorrow on Comcast Sports net.
