im getting ready to have a bone stock s15 spec r in my possession and i want to run a drift setup im going to have about 6 grand initially to mod it and im looking for some good mid range power up until about 9000 rpm im thinking replaced the gt28 with a gt32 or 34 im also going to need some head work done to not have the motor blow up pushing 9000 so do you guys have any advise on the turbo and other parts along the way i know an FMIC is a given also some medium hi lift cams but things of that nature would be an enormous help
please help thanks guys

Most people who like cars would enjoy the stage you seem to be at, if what you say is true. Why would you ask for us to pick your parts and tell you what to get lol.

Youre gonna get flamed to hell, but ill help until the flame war begins.
Gt32... you dont know much about the SR id assume. Both of those are BIG turbo's that will make more power than your motor can handle. With 6k to mod, youre not gonna be able to build the motor. Your best bet (imo) is a gt2871r .64a/r with the proper supporting mods. If you do it right, and do cams, you should be able to get 400whp, or close to it. That should be feasible for well under your 6k budget, leaving you money for suspension, tires, maintenance, etc.
Heres what Id do
gt2871r
z32maf
power fc if you want, if not Enthalpy of JWT rom tune
Injectors (probably 650cc+, no?)
ss turbo lines
rocker arm stoppers
cams/valvetrain
coilovers
wheels/tires
That should be about 6k.. give or take.

I wouldn't rev a DET head to 9k. VE/VET, fine.
Honestly, I would drop that bish in there with the standard setup. 550s, Z32, boost controller, dyno tune. RAS if you have time. You'll be over 300whp with plenty of balls. If you haven't built a 240 before, 300whp is like the sweet spot for learning your car, and the S15 T28 does it fine.
Save the money for shit that will break. And something will. You will have so much fun with an S15 T28 setup. I have an S14 T28 and I take 6.0 GTOs from a roll. My friend with a 2871 takes new grand sports from a roll, pulling bus lengths. My other friend with a custom Holset on his SR takes single turbo supras, modded termis and modded C6Z06s. Then again he runs 100 everywhere since he has a pump at work and thats another beast.
If you want a fast SR, I say do it the easiest way possible the first time. 2871 bottom mount, 740s, with no cam. You have VCT, run it till you go over 400whp. Btw, Im being short here, if this is your first time doing an SR talk to someone who has done it. Depending on your circumstance, there are a number of ways to do it.
But until you know you need this much power... OEM man. I love a 500whp 240 as much as the next guy, but until you know you need a shit ton of power, OEM modded setups are the way to be! And by OEM I mean stock turbos.

Put a V8 in it bro and call it a day. The SR20 is a shitty motor anyways. Post pics when you wreck at your first drift event.
This thread needs to go away.

sorry bro exscuse the haters. grab a couple of mags and read up on exsiting setups you like and go from there. from what I read your looking to have alot of poer so do not cheap out on any parts.BC iternals or tomei iternals would be nice, Greddy intake manifold and injectors, stand-alone ECU (HKS F-CON V pro) i like. full 3inch exshaust, aluminum driveshaft. and nice wheels + tires. search around forums and make sure you have FUN! GL man.

I dunno I'm pretty much with you. If your 18 years old and you tell me your getting an S15 Spec R, I call bullshit. :P
GL with the 'build'. (Reason I didn't help in the first place, silly dreamers.)

To be honest, nobody thinks you are going to get this S15 and such. You shouldn't post things like this until you actually have it. There is a huge difference in wanting something/thinking you are going to have something, and actually owning it.
but to keep the thread moving for shits and giggles, I'm with this guy:

Do some research on the "Disco Potato" turbo and supporting mods, I had the GT2871R which is the disco potato's "little sister", basically the disco potato with a smaller housing allowing for a much more quick spooling up. And to back up the quoted above^, yes 650CC injectors.
Good luck and I hope you learn to post after you have shit and are ready. To me, you are not ready to ask such questions. It's a step by step process and you've only begun to reach the first step, dreaming and trying to aquire.
