i always thought that the zenki and kouki (USDM) have the exact same engine. but i went to a car parts store today to get parts for tune up, and they didn't have the wires for the kouki. so i was curious and looked under 95 and they had wires for it.
can i use 95 ignition wires for my 97? what about the cap and rotor?
i am just shopping around for wires, if you guys have any good suggestions, please let me know.

well, in 1996, the motors got OBDII, adding significant wiring under the hood. plug wires are likely identical, but not sure about the cap and rotor.

Also I think the ladder KA's didn't have the butterfly valves on the intake (can anyone confirm this??)

All S14 KA's do not have butterfly valves on the intake runners.
'97- '98 KA's lack the rearmost cam bridges, and no upper timing chain guides.
Other than that, OBD II vs fake OBD II (early 95).
As with any DOHC KA swap between S13, S14, and mcS14... just swap intake and exhaust manifold (if applicable) and everything should work fine.
