View Full Version : boost gauge shows boost but car not moving the way it should

Hey fellas I'm having a little trouble.I recently installed fmic ,hot pipe with bov (sr20) car was running good 4 a while. Now when I hit the gas gauge boosts but car doesn't (bov goes off) if u guys can let me know what to look for or direct me to a link/thread it would be great . Thanx

I checked all intercooler cuplings, turbo has a new gasket on it .anything I missed i should look at ?

Take a look at the couplers really closely. Hairline cracks cannot be seen sometimes by the naked eye unless you flex the coupler. I've had some before that it was underneath the clamps.

make a boost leak tester, i made one with a tire valve and some pvc piping in like five minutes, then you can charge your whole system and it will hold pressure and you can listen for leaks when the couplers are under a pressure load

Are you saying that when you are on the throttle that the blow off is opening? If so, then maybe the hose connected to it came loose or you need to adjust the blow off to have a stiffer preload.
If that's not what you meant then I am lost.
