Kinda hard to get the camera in there. sorry for bad pics
Pretty much there's a clip on the shifter fork. I attached it to the pivot ball, and clicked the clip in place, as shown in picture 1.
Then there's a clip that goes around the back of the throw out bearing shaft thing, and I placed it on the ends of the shifter fork, as seen in pictures 2 and 3.

Are you having trouble getting the transmission back on the engine?
Or just unsure of how this goes together?
Seems like you have it right from the pics.

Never can have too much lube on that shaft before insertion. :keke:

clips need to look like pic below. then you slide the fork under the clip. Clip keeps the fork up against those two posts on the TOB.

yep^^^
And to all y'all posting he did it right, hah.. id go check all your TOB's... because its wrong.
here is another pic. you can tell were the fork goes by looking at the two "flat" spots with the clip under the fork. Hope that helps man. http://www.mysportscar.com/andy/FA/197.jpg

That's how mine are (KA on left, and a Z33 TOB on the new S14 sleeve on the right). That's how they come out as OEM in all Nissan cars with standard transmissions. On the two ends of that spring, you want the curve to be against the FORK, not up away from it, with just the little end against it.

Im just pointing out that in the pics he posted the fork is not up againt the tabs on the TOB. the clip is turned and the fork is just kinda sitting there

yep, i gotcha, im just using that pic as reference show that there are designated flat spots the fork should slid on too, with the clip in place like you said, you can clearly see in his pictures its not correct.

:duh: FUCK.
Well, I put my tranny in, with the TOB installed all wrong like it was in the first pic(cause i didnt re check this thread), and my clutch wouldnt engage.
So I took it all back apart. Is this how it goes? Someone said the curved end should be on the fork...but it feels very loose like that. I can slide the clip right off. When the pointed ends are on the fork like spitfire posted, it seems much more sturdy.

looks fine now man, the clip usually is the other way like you said. There might even be a little dent were that round side of the clip rests on the fork, i cant remember. But if its way loose and that way seems better, it might work that way also..

TOB should look the exact same as the pic then slide onto the fork from the right side first
