for the egr removal, If the sensor that needs the resistor is on the intake manifold then what is the box on the right that has the red hose going to it in the picture? there's an electrical connection that goes into it, but i thought thats what had to have the resistor. thanks

hmm...
interested in this aswell.... i dont think its even part of your egr though
egr is on back side of intake manifold and should just have one pipe running to your factory exhaust manifold...
the red hose may have some vacuum too it though...

AIV and EGR systems are completely unrelated.

that was the very first thing i took off my car...it doesn't have anything to do with the egr, but it does have something to do with the emissions. if you do take it off be sure to have a plug for the header(or have someone weld it) and some vacuum caps.

i wouldn't recommend the way i plugged the header, with a bit for a drill and exhaust putty, it was just to get me by.. i've been driving around with it like that for about 2 months now and finally i'm getting it welded tomorrow.

that header is the reason im taking out the emissions crap...it has plugs on it that are basically rusted onto it. those hoses need to be blocked off too, so imma block those off on wednesday when i get back to work on my car

AIV plug can just be taped up somewhere, or cut it off and insulate the leads.

One more thing, it doesnt really matter if i have my CEL on but with the AIV out will it send a signal to the ecu therefore messing everything up.

Messing what up?

The AIV is part of the emission control system. Removing it does not affect the ECU or engine operation in any way. There's also no way it can send a signal to the ECU if it's unplugged, so your point is both incorrect and worthless.

well there's only one, and i just used some electric tape and taped it to another wire...i think i taped it to the bottom of the coil wire or something, i can't really remember.
