I'm heading back to Cali once I'm done in southern VA. I grew up in LA but I never noticed the car scene until later on. Basically, I'm into drifting and I do it out here. I want to keep up the sport in SoCal but I'm curious to know:

How often are drifting events and where? I'll probably move to the San Diego area...

theres always formula d competitions in Long beach around April every year, and theres one in irwindale (kinda by la) about every October i go every year =)

theres usually some sort of drifting event held at willow springs every month by different people, usually 2-3 times a month maybe?

theres also thursday night drift at adams kart track, and recently friday night drift at irwindale.

Are all those events open to drivers wanting to drift? The ones Omar mentioned seems more like spectator events.

second thing. Is there a good tuner in SoCal that can tune Zs with Osiris?

yup there sure is, his name is Juan screen name on zilvia is (bardabe) he's legit and not that far from San Diego either everyone on here knows him. He has a Z himself as will that he works on, you might know him or heard about him he's on my350z forums.

damn, i was considering going to Hawaii or even back to JP but Cali's sounding better and better.

I never heard of Juan (I've been stuck on the east coast) but what's the name of his shop?

No doubt. That's my home state but I still have a year to decide. Only problem is that I came to southern VA from JP and I'm starting to miss that place.

JayDee, I didn't find the 'socal section' but do you know (or anyone reading) if Cali has message forum site (i.e. like VADRIVEN or HAWAIITALKS)?

HAHA VADRIVEN. The old DragVa. Not sure about the message forum site. If your just looking in this section here they post up events all the time. Hell they just closed the flight line in Coronado this weekend and had an event on base

zomg, i used to work at the clinic in Coronado before I went to JP!

Anyways, fuck VADRIVEN..! nuf said. I'll look into socal-drift but I was looking more for general forums so I can ask questions about random Cali related stuff (i.e. mainly on restaurants).

LOL yeah there was always drama on that thing. Poor guys got flame sprayed for just about anything

Hey guys. I've been checking socal-drift.com but haven't found anything in the San Diego area. Is that to say that drifting events are only located in LA county (or outskirt areas)?

I have found some AutoX stuff in SD but that's about it.

Yes that would make San diego about 2 1/2 hours away from long beach and irwindale house of drift. And willow springs even farther up north.
