Hey,

Just a bit of an issue I have seemed to run into, last night when coming home from the club i sorta pushed my S15 a bit hard! As I pulled into the driveway I notice the car was misfiring. I checked this morning and the car was still doing it and it seems a bolt came loose on the manifold where the turbo is connected and there was coolant leaking through there. When I turn off the car and turn it back on sometimes it starts and sometimes it like its ceased or something and doesnt want to turn over. I don't have a coolant line running to the turbo and it seems the coolant is coming directly through the turbo manifold into the turbo and its alot.

Anyone have any suggestions on what might be the problem? I fear the worst that its one of the pistons but anyhow I am getting ready to build so this would be give a perfect reason for me to pull out the engine now.

Headgasket.
You can do a comrpession test to make sure and then you can do a wet compression test to make sure
its not the rings but since coolant is spilling out its got to be the headgasket.

A compression test will not provide any valuable information to your situation. You need to do a leak down test to determine if H/G is blown.

You said coolant is leaking into the turbo? So its smoking?

what bolt came loose? turbo to manifold, or Manifold to head?

also take pics its hard to visualize what u are taking about.

I've run into a problem that sounds exactly like this. I too stepped on it pretty hard on the freeway and what had happened was one of my coils popped off slightly not making a good contact to the spark plug.

I know it seems unlikely but you may want to check it out.
GoodLuck

Thanks for the info guys ... I did a lil reading up today and I too am sure its the head gasket which is blown ... Yes there is a whole lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust when i revved the motor. The connection between the turbo manifold and the turbo itself is where I can see coolant leaking from which i said before is from a loose bolt. I also checked my oil and the level has raised and also it is a light gray which indicates that coolant is mixing with the oil. :duh:
