prolly a stupid question, but can you powder coat the stock sr20det intake manifold? im getting my valve cover done, and i might as well do the im if its possible.. thanks

i powdercoat for a living so ill give you some tips. make sure it is 100% clean. no oil,grease,dirt, nada. if there is the powder will either fisheye in those dirty areas get rejected or flake off. and since its the intake manifold you can pretty much do any color you want cause it doesnt get hot enough to make the powder flake off. good luck

Agreed. Everything I get coated is media blasted first. Seems like that's the standard for powdercoaters.

He probably meant if you are DIY'ing the intake manifold to make sure it's really clean.

ive done a sr intake manifold and the time it took me to make it smooth and clean so no imperfections would show took me forever. i did it to my own so it was free but it would cost a lot extra to have someone do it else for him. just trying to save someone some money. thanks for playing.

powder, once cured can withstand up to around 400 degrees...so yeah you can powdercoat your intake manifold...the hardest part is the prep.
