By interchangeable, I mean will an S13 5spd transmission work on an S14? The S14 is already a 5spd, so the ECU and harness and stuff is there, but the transmission grinds so I need to swap it. I tried searching but I guess the search function is down or something because it wouldn't load. Thanks..

the s14 trans has a extra sesnor ( 4th gear I think ) but the bell housings mate up so long as its a kade to kade, and sr to sr.

you can intermingle the 2 but theres a bit of work to make that happen ( swap bell housings )

OBD1 or OBD2 S14?

If its a OBD2 then you have to swap bellhousings as theres a crank position sensor at the top of the trans otherwise it'll go on fine. Just change out the speed sensor too.

You don't need to swap bellhousings at all. You can drill the hole out, and tap a hole for the bolt....installt he sensor, and you're good to go.

Wrong. ALL S14s have the crank position sensor, it's not an OBD-I/II difference.

My 95 doesnt have the sensor at the top of the trans but my 96 did. Where is the crank position on a 95 then?

it's not extra work, it's 2 drilled holes and a tap...or epoxy if you don't have taps

Someone put an S13 transmission in the car before you bought it. All 1995-1998 models have it.
