ok heres the problem my dash is cracked in two places..TWO PLACES god i hate it and its a ugly color brown. my question is....(yes i did a search for dash replacment) how would i go about replacing the dash?

i have a 89 so i guess the two main questions are

1. where can i find a dash? (ill never ebay dont trust it)

2. is there any place where i can have someone put in the new dash? (or how I would go about doing it) ...remeber i am a newbie

thanks in advance and like i said before i did do a search for dash replacment but i didnt find anything that awnserd my questions.

OH almost forgot...anyone have any advice on how to change the color? would spray paint or somthing work.....

best bet for a dash replacement would be go to a junk yard and try to find one that is in goog condition. Other than that I dont know about the rest of your questions.

if i find a dash do you know how to actually take it out of the car? lol

screwdriver... I think that you just need to unscrew it and bolt in the new one. I havent done anything like that before.

vynal(sp) repair kit works wonders, expectially afteru repaintthe dash:)

or you could use a 10mm socket... don't forget to drop the steering column.

this is a pretty lenghty project no?

How the hell DO you drop the column? I needed to do that when I was taking the dash apart (long story) and i didnt know how the f to do it...

12mm socket to drop the steering column. just look for two tabs with bolts sticking thru them just past the black surround.
i can yank a dash in less than 30 minutes if need be.
