when i turn the key over everything powers up but car will not start, i can jump the starter and it will fire right up. i havent replaced the ignition switch im just trying to make sure that is all it could be. any ideas?

is a SR20 btw

possibly a relay or it could be a neutral safety switch ....when you say you jumped it do you mean cut the wires and joined them ?

^^ +1 your neutral safety could be funky, their cheap if it is that

Check your starter relay. It is between the battery, and the fender. It's blue.

touched a screw driver from signal on starter to the power...and sometimes it will fire up with the key and sometimes nothing but power. wont even try and turn over.

Could it not just be a bad starter? Next time it won't start, hit it with something and see if it starts up then.

fuel pump and everthing else is kicking on?

make sure your 75 amp gray fusible link is in ok shape those always tend to go for stupid reason, on the chassis fuse box by the battery
