September 11th GMR Run!

Sorry for the late notice, but the next cruise is this Saturday, September 11th.

The meet point will be at a Kohl's in Upland with a very large parking lot. The address for Kohl's is:

1923 N Campus Ave
Upland, CA 91784

This puts us only about 5 miles or so from the beginning of the run. As I mentioned above, the total distance for the entire cruise is 43.3 miles. It should last about an hour and a half total. Once we finish the run the meeting point will be at a restaurant called La Tolteca (EXCELLENT Mexican food with a large parking lot and plenty of room for all of us inside). The restaurant is less than 5 miles from the end of the run, so again it should be a lot easier to keep together. The address for La Tolteca is:

I am going to shoot for a meet time at the Kohl's in Upland at 2:45p.m. We will leave the lot at 3:30p.m. With any luck, we should arrive for dinner between 5 and 5:30p.m.

Posting meetups for cyn/mtn runs was cool back in 2002, when cops didn't really care as much... back when you could cruise 20 cars deep through Latigo Cyn over in Malibu with no police trouble.

Organize a big run over here and I guarantee you there's gonna be a few party crashers.

Be safe dudes, keep it on the D/L or just don't go at all. :cops:

Well, that's great then. I guess the po-po's are starting to let-up... until the next person crashes. It's perfectly cool, and I'm happy that you're able to take advantage of these runs without worrying about the police.

But just beware. Someone from another group of guys is gonna go up there, and he's gonna crash and die because he was driving drunk in his crx. Then, when you and your group goes up, the cops are gonna target you guys. This has happened before, no joke. That's why I don't do GMR anymore. I go up there, and I'm literally just cruising around, and suddenly I get the 100 questions from the police on why I'm up there and "where the NOS is at."

I don't mean to rain on your parade. I really really don't mean that, because running around with a group of 25 is a really fun time. But if I were you, I'd not let my guard down and keep the run organization on the DL because it's only a matter of time until somebody complains about you guys and the cops crack down.

Either way, I have a feeling this is still gonna go down on the scheduled date, so have fun 'n be safe. :2c:

Yeah this is a bad idea I went in my turbo mr2 just for a nice drive and the cops tryed to take my shit thank god it was a mr2 turbo from the dealer the arrowhead on will be some much better seeing it been posted for months and well planned just go to that one your more then welcome to

hey guys, Sean is a good guy. He organizes these runs all time with no problems. it's not just imports, there's muscle cars and exotics and imports etc. cops usually give his groups a thumbs up. If i wasn't having my car show that day, I would be going too. Have fun Sean.

I was bored and never went up there so.... I went for the cruz. Small group about 20 with everything from evos to supercharged american muscle, there was a 2010 vert m3 that was hot and even a gtr. All in all it was a fun day even considering I was the only 240 there. But for all the forum idiots out there it was a horrible time with 8 million police all over and I would never suggest going anywhere away from your computer:}

Thanks for coming yesterday everyone! We had just under 40 cars and considering I gave less than a week's notices, that was pretty solid :)

Great run. Perfect weather, no cops, and fantastic food.

Also the variety of cars was awesome. GTR, Vette's, lots of Evos (thanks as always to the SoCal Evo guys for coming out), GTO's, G8's, Mustangs, SRT4, WRX, BMW M3 and 335i, CTS-V, STS-V, etc. Next run will be October 9th and I'll post up details as we get closer.
