I drove Mr. Migs 2way nismo LSD Equiped S14 today and messed aroudn w/ it some. WOW! Does that thing feel nice!
I was gonna buy his J30 VSLD 1way LSD off him but I think 1.5 or 2way is the way to go! All I gotta say it Open diff sucks hard! I'm all hyped about gonna go buy an LSD now. Tomei, kazz nismo.. Not sure which one yet.

The new Kaaz 20 pack doesnt require halfshafts. Straight drop in affair. And I have it, and it ROCKS. Feels like an entirely different car now. Best mod to date.

Yeah, 2-way diffs are the shiznit! haha I loved my VLSD when i first got it and it made a world's worth of difference, but now i really want a 2-way. Soooo much nicer. Note to others: save the extra money to get a 1.5 or 2 way!

Nitekids-
How do you continually purchase $$$ high dollar stuff for your car like every other week?? Your car is super sweet and I'm just wondering because for me, a major purchase like a new set of rims or JDM kit peices takes me months of saving.....and I have a decent job.

Today was my first track event with a VLSD. Unfortunetly I don't have one yet but I co-drove with my friend who has a 300ZX. The VLSD makes a HUGE difference exiting corners and makes the car less squirly in loose areas. I could actually launch too. The VLSD WILL be my second upgrade. Looks like I gotta do some junkyard divin'.

i installed my vlsd last week and it is great. the car feel smoother, the weird thing is that now I find myself driving like a grandmother, shifting at lower rpm and crusing at ~2k rpm. but it's good for gas mileage, I can't wait to go to the track.

Nitekids, since you never take your car to the track (except to say hello to people) why don't you just get a vlsd.
See, it usually works like this: people deal with the decreased daily drivability of a 1.5 or 2-way LSD because they know it is really benefiting them at the track.
Since you're not into that, why bother? vsld will be easy - a clutch-type requires regular maintenance and will need to be rebuilt periodically ($$$). Save yourself the trouble.

word,
argh, speaking of regular maintenance, time to change my LSD oil... if you don't plan on using it regularly, i swear its more pain than its worth.
VLSD is 1.5way, not 1-way.
Clutchpack LSD oilchanges are PAINS IN THE ***.

VLSD's are not 1-way, 1.5 way or 2-way. They just act on a difference in speed between the 2 wheels. It doesn't matter if your braking or accelerating. People need to start understanding this, it's really not that hard of a concept.

nismo/kaas/tomei/ats = clutch type
quaife/s15 OEM = gear type
gear type = zero maintenance except for normal diff fluid changes (about once every 2 years, like your tranny).
