Well as some of you may know, BEISSEN (aka Josh) had his car involved in a slight accident. Details were explained in another post. But for some of you that don't know what happened, I will give a brief story.

While Josh is away in South Korea, he covered his car, and cancel his insurance. However while he was away, one night (i believe) his car was being driven by someone else (his mom's boyfriend) and the guy steered to miss a deer however countersteered into a concrete sewer ditch causing serious suspension damage and minor body damage. Remember.....THERE IS NO INSURANCE ON THE CAR.

His mom wants to pay for the damages...however Josh wants to wait until he get back from North Korea to fix it himself. I will see if I can get a quote on JUST the suspension damage and see if she will fork over the money to fix it. He is still doing payments on the car and how much is left is unknown (for now). If he was to have insurance at the time of the accident....the insurance company would have totaled the car and pay off the loan. They would have totaled it mainly because of the body damage...some of it was already there (such as the hood) but any body shop would be quick to replace the parts and state it on the estimate....thus jacking up the final estimate to $4000+ (the S14 is so overpriced on parts). Here is my take on what is damaged on the car...from what I can see...

Suspension/Wheels (Passenger side):
*lower control arm
*inner tie rod
*outer tie rod
*T/C rod
*front steelie (4-lug, 15")
*both tires
*What I believe is part of the crossmember

Bodywork (note: this may not be taken care of):
*dented hood (previous damage)
*minor cracked front bumper
*scuffed up front and rear bumper (repaint is needed)
*dented passenger side fender (most be replaced, unless repairable)
*cracked driver side taillight (previous damage)

Misc:
*bent N1 dual exahust tip

The is NO FRAME DAMAGE and the engine runs fine. I started up the car and it runs AWESOME. The interior is dirty mainly because the windows were down during the accident. Josh was very lucky that I didn't jack any of his pieces...the trunklid and taillights were calling my name. :p

I'm not taking any sides on this case....mainly because I'm upset with both sides.

Here are some of the pics I took:

THIS CAR IS NOT FOR SALE, NOR WILL IT BE PARTED OUT!!!!
So don't ask for headlights or S14 seats (even though its tempting).

Thanks to CIPmotorsports.com (http://www.cipmotorsports.com) for hosting the pics. :)

So...what do u guys think?

haha...wtf? are u serious? :D

Yea I would just fix the suspension parts too. I have no idea when Josh comes back, since he said he wants to fix it himself. However I will get an estimate from somewhere on how much it will cost to fix just the suspension....this way the mom can probably take care of it.

My friend and parts guy may be getting a kouki S14 SE in soon (front end damage though), so i'll see about salvagable body panels (hoping maybe the driver's side was hit on it?) Otherwise, he's got a crap load of S14 and S13 parts left.

Some estimates on parts (and prices I've gotten stuff for before)

Suspension/Wheels (Passenger side):
*lower control arm - $50
*inner tie rod - $20 (??)
*outer tie rod - $20 (??)
*T/C rod -$20 (??)
*front steelie (4-lug, 15") - hell he can have one of mine
*both tires - want some worn blizzaks?? I've got a spare pirelli too.
*Front crossmember - $60

I doubt he'll NEED new body panels. Some body work with a hammer and anvil should fix things nicely, with a mix of TLC.

The Moms Boyfriend (or whoever the irresponsible jacka$$ is) would need to go for a little ride if it were me.

I am not a body man at all so doing that would be the part that looks most expensive...however, have the jacka$$ come up with 2 grand...the car can be as it was before..if not better, body and all.

I would say 500 for frame and underbody and sweat equity, (tires , rims would be more...for real tires and rims) another 1500 to 1800 (and the time) for the total bodywork..and another 200 for a professional detail. 375 for the ambulance ride...something like that.

What a joke. Don't people respect others property at all?

Moral of that story, you put your car up, drain all the fluids, take out the plugs and battery and dry store the sucker where it is not drivable and put it up on jackstands.

Dare someone to touch it...and cancel comprehensive...keep theft, fire etc Insurance. A non driven car (especially if you are still paying a note) in storage dress is very cheap..like less than 250 a year. It is collision , liability and PIP that runs up the price.

I feel for Josh..Hope he holds his cool. It would be a toughy for me..

Reminds me of the oil change thread where the mechanic took the car out to "test the oil change"

Sick...

umm....can I have the taillights? :D

Can you give me your e-mail so I can bug you for more inquires? :D

Josh should have put his car up on jackstands or atleast hide the keys (or take them), but I know the reason why. :-/

A GOOD body shop in my area will try to replace the part before banging it out. However, even if they bang out the dents its going to cost an arm and a leg. The HUGE scar left on my hood will cost me $550 to repair.....what kind of shit is that? Now I have to replace the hood with CF and save some money.

BTW...here a pic of that scar :wtc:

No frame damage my ***. I did the same thing, right into a curb at 30, my car looked just the same. I replaced lca, inner outter tie rods and COUNTED the threads, new tension rod bracket, new tension rod, new sway bar bolt, new crossmember. Still have a couple degrees caster on the front right wheel. What in the hell could I have possibly missed? Thats beyond me, but good luck getting that thing back to spec.

Sorry that was a typo..I meant South Korea (but I was thinking North). Suspension parts are semi-difficult to find at a junkyard...since S14's are kinda rare. I really think Josh might give up on the car and actually sell it...as is or have his mom fix it and then sell it. NOBODY spit out offers until that concept is firm and I make another thread.
