Has anyone ever heard of doing this method? I didn't want to tap my block for the oil return so I was considering letting it return through my dipstick tube, anyone else ever heard of doing this?

Tapping the oil pan is incredibly easy. and you'll stiill be able to check your oil.

I'm talking about running an elbow into the dipstick tube and welding it onto there. Not like i wouldn't be tapping anything...

if you're gonna spend time that way...do it right and tap the oil pan.

I don't think you are going to get the flow you need through that little tube.

It sounds like you're gonna do it anyway, whether or not we tell you it's a good idea.
So just go ahead and do it already.

-6 AN is to small. Most outlets are -10 AN.
if you ask if its a good idea and people say no, then why the fuck ask? stupid idea.

^^ This is what is wrong with Zilvia, too much negativity. I asked because it was an idea I had. I figured it'd possibly work. Thank you for you input however unnecessary it was. I hate people like you, you're what's wrong with this world. Ignorance....
Thank you S14DB I appreciate it.
Just so you all know, I'm not running it through the dipstick tube. It has been done on other cars, miatas mostly, so I figured I'd ask what others thought on the matter. I'm far from a dumb-ass I just wanted someone else's input on the matter.

If you knew how much oil actually returns through the outlet, you wouldn't have asked the question in the first place. Take a look at the return outlet on the turbo... if you keep that diameter, you'll be fine. Necking it down significantly will back up the oil and cause it to end up where it shouldn't be.

THe Miata turbo returns through the dipstick hole in the block, not the tube itself. And on top of that, the kits that I've seen with these have a specially made pipe that goes in the bottom that goes into the block, and has a provision for the return and dipstick. The return area for this is much larger than on the KA or SR as well.
IIRC it's the HKS or Greddy kit that uses that method as well, no one else will
