Hey guys its been a little while since ive posted. Anyways I just picked up an sr20 powered 240. It smokes, i bought it from a guy that doesnt know alot about them. He had 3 t25s in the trunk, thought he may have had a bad turbo, but then was leaning towards headgasket. Anyways he needed to sell it for some quick cash for family issues, so i bascially stole this car from him lol.

I plan on pulling the engine, doing a leakdown test, see whats really wrong, and just clean the swap up because its really haggard. However, I have had my fair share of sr20 experience and i have some cool go fast parts laying around my house. So i want to do something a little different. This is what i have

Now all that really needs to happen is me make a bracket for it and some custom IC pipes and i should be GTG. I can handle the fab work thats not a big deal. Where i get concerned though is tuning, I could get a PFC and get a dyno tune but I really dont want to spend 500 for a pfc and 500 for dyno time when i could just get a flash and get close to the same ammount of power. Does anyone know a reasonable way to flash a tune like this? Would this be complicated? Any tuning shops that you guys would reccomend for this? I figure if i decide to spin the engine to 8000 rpm I could come up with some sort of calculation to find out how much boost my SC is making. Maybe aim to make 8-10psi.

But idk i dont have any tuning experience, the fab work wont be any problem, but im lost with tuning so reccomendations and suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks guys

figured id add this too i just found a calculator on the vortech website .

Here is crank pulley ratio to SC pulley ratio impeller speed calculations for 8000rpms.

crank pulley to SC

2:1= 57600rpm
1.5:1=43200rpm
1:1=28800rpm

Not really an engineer so i dont know how much boost that would make any of you guys know a way to calculate this based on the supercharger specs?

Its not really optimally sized - its set up more for a 3-4L engine.

The thing is, you have two factors - flow and PSI. unfortunately for you, you're out of efficiency much past 10psi.

So, about like a T25... but it can push 10psi on a 2L or a 4L just the same.
